It's not all that telling that Hillary played the fear card with that ad.....
She's behind and is looking to make a last stand. That's relatively standard stuff, she knows she's been around longer and has steadfastly kept to her war position, so it's a solid move to try to scare people out of voting for Obama.

What I think will be telling is if people actually fall for it this time. Especially Dems. If this, as Mark Penn suggested yesterday, is turning loads of voters her way, then that opens a big door for McCain in the GE. Because you know McCain is going to run on nothing but fear. That's all he has in his arsenal. And I guarantee you if fear is a deciding factor, McCain can outfear Obama or Hillary any day of the week. And if Dem voters in a Dem primary are susceptible to fear, then Independents will surely be suckers for it.

So I'm curious to see just how it works for her. Are we still that scared post 9/11 nation or have we moved past the politics of fear? I don't know, it'll be interesting.

1. It's symptomatic of her brand of politics.
I'm surprised she waited so long to do it.

2. The problem is the dim bulbs in this country. Like the guy on
60 Minutes the other night who I had great sympathy for when he began to cry about his wife with MS and losing his job and health insurance. Then he says something about not voting for Obama because he's a Muslim who refuses to take his oath on the Bible or some such crap. The stupid people in this country should not be allowed to vote.

5. I thought it was interesting because he said he was leaning towards Obama
But had reservations because he was a Muslim etc. I was like... wait, he thinks he's Muslim but is still leaning towards him? I think maybe the obvious domestic turmoil might scare people more than the idea of all Muslims being terrorists nowadays.

3. Mark Penn is laughing all the way to the bank with Charlie Black.
Both of these men are Republican operatives going way back. Black manages McCain's campaign currently and Hillary was STUPID enough to hire Penn to run hers. They are gaming the Democratic nomination process using the worst of Republican tactics. For this reason alone, Hillary deserves to lose.

6. If it works against Obama, I think it's more a function of highlighting his "inexperience" than fear
