Just voted in Toledo, OH...
At about 8:30 am, there was no line to get in. I spent about 2 minutes on the ballot. There was probably about 20 people in there while I was there. Lots of older people.

The weather today is no worse than it has been lately. Yesterday was nice, but 20 and light snow/ice is nothing compared to the shit we've had up here the past month. Weather should play no real part in the turnout up here...at least if it stays the same.

The Diebold machines up here were easy to use. They are touchscreen, but they print out a ballot receipt. If you're voting today, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE PRINTOUT. That is all they have to go off of to keep tabs on the machine count.

There were about 15 or 20 machines at my polling place. I had no wait to use one.

Finding the polling place was a pain the arse. Some idiots parked in front of the sign. If it wasn't for the TV crew antenna, I would have probably missed it.

This is the first time in my adult life that my vote will actually have a chance to affect the outcome. In 1996 and 2000 I lived in IL. In 2004 I lived in KY. Now I live in a swing state, and it feels good to have a chance to influence the vote.

I'll be taking my wife over there this afternoon. If it looks any different as far as turnout goes, I'll keep everyone posted.

2. Me too, near Akron. No problems except weather.
Freezing rain. No campaign volunteers were present. The only contested primary was the presidential and there were no issues today. Three voters were ahead of me and a short line began behind me. This was 8:00 a.m. We still have the computer gadget machines.

4. Are these the same Diebold machines which print out one thing...
but can register something different inside the machine?

Happy to hear the weather is OK! Let's hope the turnout is huge and that all votes are counted correctly.

5. This is my first election using them...
so I don't know if they're "the same". What I do know is that I was able to check the paper printout on the roll as it registered my vote.
