Olbermann/Maddow on the Hillary campaign.
The whole clip from Countdown is an excellent watch. But, if you don't want to spend 6 or 7 minutes watching, go directly to 5:40 and watch the last 90 seconds.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/23456568#23456568

A lot of people have become disgusted with Hillary's tactics and her willingness to feed the Republicans campaign fodder.

4. But that's not the point, is it? IF Obama wins, he will be faced with this quote.
"Hillary Clinton declared that both she and John McCain were better prepared than you to be president. How do you respond to that?"

Even in a heated campaign, even when you go sharply negative, you do NOT declare the Republican nominee to be better than your opponent.

You cannot justify this under any circumstances. Hillary Clinton has lost all perspective and has become the victim of her own blind ambition.

10. Hillary comes out the loser in this one.
When Obama is faced with that line, he has two options:

1. Allow it to go unchallenged and weaken him (and hence the Dems chance at the WH)
2. Throw Hillary under the bus by going negative on her; noting that she has no foreign policy experience and, thus, isn't the greatest judge of it.

I don't see how he doesn't go with option #2.

5. thanks-my favorite part was Maddow's closing line:
"That's what you say when you want to be McCain's vice-president. That's not what you say when you want to be the Democratic nominee for president."
Exactly.

6. Hillary went over the line
She meant to say, "I can take McCain on with my experience v.s. his" but it kinda came out like, "Obama is the little kid here, and JMac and I are the grownups."

8. Rachel Maddow was a huge fan of Hillary...
And watching that, you could read her disappointment in Hillary all over her face.

I really respect Rachel Maddow and seeing her disappointment is the only thing keeping me from being downright gleeful about that clip.

9. This should seal her fate with the Super Delegates

This will encourage them to come out strong for Obama.

11. I was disgusted by
Rachel's comments last night. I think she and Keith have lost it when it comes to giving their opinions. Rachel is an Obama supporter (NOT a Hillary supporter), and it's obvious Keith has joined the good ole boys club when it comes to Hillary. I support Hillary's comments regarding Obama's experience because it's absolutely true. Rachel is full of it with that comment about a VP position.

13. Keith never used to giggle like a 14-year-old
When he came out against Hillary, his demeanor changed entirely. I thought it was my partisanship, but then an Obama supporter mentioned it to me.

It also provides a hint into why Obama will never take many more Democrats than he already has: many of us perceive him as a junior-high-school principal and his supporters as his kids. If you gather all the anti-Hillary arguments made here, the truth becomes quite clear about Team Obama -- the petulance, the low frustration tolerance, the inability to handle stress (even one single day of bad news), the non-stop "witty" repartee, the deliberate name misspellings ("Hilly" and "hilary" are popular caconyms), the snobbery, the torrent of blame, and the inability to take responsibility for their blunders.

Hillary, to be sure, has made several blunders, and can be fairly criticized for them. I have a whole list, and I've even gone bipartisan with a letter to Howard Dean about a financial matter that has stuck in one DUer's craw -- with good reason. And the common stupidities campaigns commit should be corrected by the voters, especially in-party. But the media, and MSNBC in particular, are beating Hillary like a redheaded stepdaughter, and pointedly giving Obama a pass on the very same stuff -- Keith is notorious for doing this, probably from his sense of upper-class irony. The recent comments about SNL and on her SNL appearance last saturday caused a number of arch cracks, but it took several days for him to even acknowledge that Obama had a cameo in a strongly anti-Clinton skit last fall. All's fair in politics, war, and comedy, but Keith styles himself as a Solon.

I have no problem with a good, hard-fought primary. It toughens us up, and our candidates, too, for the greater fight ahead. Let the poo be flung, let the mud fly, let a thousand "shame on you!"s contend. But there has been something different this time, something more poisonous but less honestly aggressive. If the Democratic Party is picking up the passive-aggressive habits of sullen teenagers, we are more screwed than we can possibly imagine.

17. Maddow and Olbermann have lost it? What they've lost is respect for Hillary.
You don't use GOP campaign slander against your Democratic opponent.

You don't give ammunition to the GOP by saying that the GOP nominee is better than your Democratic opponent.

Don't blame them for pointing out Clinton's bad judgment.

16. Didn't Hillary campaign for women's rights in China?
Yeah, that was a pretty good thing. Her finger wasn't on the nuclear button, but talking back to the Chinese gerontocracy was no mean feat.

18. Hillary has been great with her international campaign for women. But, ...
... the trip to China was part of a huge conference. Let's not get carried away.
