I think Hillary will concede in the next few days
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 11:18 AM by Onlooker
I'd be perfectly okay with her as the nominee, but I don't see how she can make the race close enough for the Superdelegates that they can find a rationale to support her. Playing with CNN's delegate counter --

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/29/delegate.counter/index.html

-- I think even a realistic best case (for her) would have Obama leading her by more than 100 delegates. If that happens, the superdelegates can't back her. The perception of unfairness would be too great. Even many Hillary supporters understand that.

I suppose Hillary's only chance comes tonight. If she scores shocking victories and wins by double digits, then the race will still be wide open, but barring that she's a long-shot at best.

Unless she does terrifically tonight, I think she will step down (or suspend her campaign and, in effect, concede) in the next few days. With her McCain comment, her "3 a.m" commercial, and her handling of Obama's religion, it's clear those are last desperate attempts of her campaign to change the dynamic. I don't think it will work.

15. I agree - as long as more people have voted for her -incl FL/Mich - she has moral claim to win- also
she has easily won the big states that are the core of a Democratic win in Nov - he only has his one big state win in Illinois and a couple of votes win in Missouri - indeed open primary and caucuses are zero predictive value as to population vote in November given GOP attempt to "kill Hill" (as the GOP sticker in Texas says as it urges a vote for Obama).

17. Oh please. Noone is sitting FL/Mich
They broke the DNC rules, so the DNC can bar them from being seated. Their appeal on March 17th in Atlanta is not going to fly anywhere, and it'll be irrelevant by the time your Holy Queenliness concedes tonight or tomorrow and suspends her campaign. She has blown it all yesterday with her 'macaca' comment, and people have memories, and if she dares to continue, she will have nothing else left but a major exodus on her superdelegates which will reduce her numbers to about zero chance of winning at all.

So sit down, shut up, and enjoy the show tonight while it lasts. After tonight's beatdown of one certain Clinton, you'll be running across the aisle and cheering for Obama and pretending that Clinton doesn't exist.

10. What?!
Seriously? You believe that? Especially after 8 years of Bush?

I'm not a huge fan of either of them, but I think they'll both make good Presidents if elected.

7. winning the big states
is all the rationale she needs for the convention if she wins Ohio and Texas. Will it work, who knows? If Obama does not win in the big states or the swing state like Ohio, he might have to prove to the DNC that he can do so in the GE. Obama says that Republicans voted for him in his won primaries, can he assure us that they will vote for him in the GE?

11. I think Hillary will stay in the race until such time that it is clear that
it is impossible (not unlikely, but impossible) for her to win the nomination. One thing that I've always admired about Hillary is that she is not a quitter. We will just have to wait and see what happens today and she what decision she makes. I'm willing to support her for the Presidency so I'll trust her judgment as to when to step down or not.

18. She's already lost.. it's MATHETIMATICALLY impossible
for her to catch up and win the nomination. It's time for her to step down tonight if she *LOSES* one of the states (Texas is increasingly likely and Ohio is going to go down to the wire)

Remember, Texas is proportioned in a way that Obama will win most of the delegates there, and Hillary will get the LEAST of the delegates. Remember, the delegates assigned in Texas are based on how they voted in the '06 elections.

Many Katrina survivors still live in Texas, and that helps Obama. East Texas will go to him.

12. She has taken more delegates in only 9 out of 37 contests.
Her best case scenario today will be, 11 of 41.

No way to spin that as winning.

I'm not at all surprised to find you seeking out sadistic thoughts and behaviors....it is your style.

Did you know that....

Anyone who finds a baby-toddler's laughter sadistic is a bit twisted and needs intensive therapy. Sign and Symptom of a pedophile you know.
