"Tonight's results will matter a lot, of course. But only up to a point. It seems quite likely that Hillary will win Ohio and at least come close in Texas, and perhaps win the primary there. Under most of the likely scenarios, it does not sound like she has any intention of folding her tent voluntarily, even though the delegate math remains awful for her.

That's why I think tonight may matter less than the aftermath in the second half of this week. I assume we're going to see a ferocious push by the Obama campaign to create a climate of opinion that demands Hillary's exit. This hint that he's about to unveil 50 more superdelegate endorsements is a preview. So is the fact that Obama has waited to release his February fundraising haul, which is expected to top an astonishing $50 million. Party leaders and liberal pundits are going to start hammering on Hillary to get out."

Snip

by the way if this has already been posted I apologize

1. You know, despite all the anticipation...
I don't think today will matter much at all.

3. If she loses, can Clinton make a graceful exit?

It will testify her character if she can.

On the other side, if Obama loses, the nomination is probably going to the convention.

I'm not afraid of McCain. He's not going to win the general election, but the Democrats can lose it.

6. I doubt the Dems are going to allow it to go to the convention. There are to many
Super delegates who have to run this fall, and too many invested in winning both the White House and down ticket to put off settling fairly quickly on a nominee.

Hillary needs not just win today, she needs to win both Ohio and Texas by about 20%+

That doesn't seem to be in the cards.

If Obama has a reasonably good day, the Dems will ask Hillary nicely to withdraw. If she refuses I expect to see a pretty fast and massive movement of both undeclared supers as well as priviously declared for Hillary supers publically moving into the Obama camp.

At some point Obama and the party will declare that the FL and MI delegates probably should be seated and that will put Obama over the top.

Only Hill wants this to go to the convention, everyone else is loathe to see that happen.

7. 50 Super delegates? where did that "hint" come from? That might be enough to close the deal.
She did not help her case with the McCain "endorsement". This is proof that she doesn't care how much damage she does to our chances in the GE.

8. Remember the day before? Back in the days when the HRC camp admitted ...
that they had to WIN Big in both Ohio and Texas?

Remember fast, because the spin just keeps on spinning.
