25. Interesting that Obama supporters went thumbs down as soon as they
started with the "experience" thing -- they knew what was coming. The poor clueless undecideds just sat there neutrally until Hillary popped up, then they followed the Obama folks right on down. Pretty funny.

15. For those who can't see...
To sum it up, the video plays with 3 lines imposed over it, one for Obama supporters, one for Clinton supporters, and one for Undecideds. The Clinton line steadily rises the whole time. The Obama line and especially the Undecided line both drop DRASTICALLY once it becomes apparent what the ad is about.

I love it!

Reflective perhaps of the utter disgust sinking in.

Yes, Clinton gained an overall 1% advantage from the ad. Let's see if it translates into votes.

20. Actually, if you read the full findings, it looks like the ad is effective for Clinton.
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 04:34 PM by Xithras
Disclaimer: I'm an Obama supporter.

Now: It appears that 3% of the Obama supporters viewing the ad (who had indicated Obama support before watching it) either switched to Clinton or to Undecided. At the same time, 2% of Clinton supporters beforehand abandoned her, presumably because they didn't like the ad. Although both sides lost some of their original supporters, Hillary still ended up with a 1% greater gain than Obama did.

In the overall numbers, Obama lead Clinton in the pre-commercial polling 36% to 33%, with 31% Undecided. After watching the video, Obama still lead Clinton, but by a narrower 37% to 35% margin, with 28% Undecided. The ad caused both sides to lose some of their original supporters, but did swing many undecided votes. In total, Hillary picked up more than Obama.

It just goes to show how effective poor ads can really be.

32. I have a different opinion
It looks like a waste of money.

The supposed Clinton/Obama supporter swaps were pretty much a wash, and the undecided people were pretty much a wash as well. 1-2% changes are noise.

For ONE ad to have that affect, it is inarguably effective.

She picked up 2 points from the undeciders and Obama picked up 1.

Interesting how everyone "agreed" up to a certain point, and then dropped off dramatically after that.
