Exit polls: Blacks consist of 20% of the electorate in Ohio
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 07:10 PM by NJSecularist
That according to Foxnews. It is up 6% from 2004.

And 90% of them are voting for Obama.

If these numbers hold, he needs to come within 10-15% of the white vote to win the state.

The best news for Obama yet.

2. Yes it is.
It's certainly the reason why Obama is coming close in the exit polls.

3. Wait a minute!
Do you mean out of ALL the blacks in Ohio, ONLY 20% showed up to vote?

5. No 20% of the actual voters.
That gives Obama a 18% boost in the total votes.

11. SUSA predicted 16% for black turnout
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 07:21 PM by thewiseguy
But the more important news is that they appear to have grossly underestimated the number of independents voting in this election. That number in the exit polls is close to 24% while they sampled only 12%.

This race will be alot closer than what SUSA was predicting. Maybe Zogby was right.

Any idea on how whites voted?

13. I thought MSNBC was showing that the polls close in OH at 7:30.
I hope they don't make any projections while the polls are open.
