Texas, please explain. How can you have...
a primary AND a caucus and divide the vote??? We wonder why people don't trust politics. It's hard enough to figure out Ohio's district rules, but to have a primary and a caucus makes no sense to me.

1. 2/3 of delegates assigned by the primary, 1/3 by the caucus
Very, very, very strange.

2. Washington has a primary and caucus.
It's just that democrats in Washington don't assign delegates based on the primary. I actually kind of like the way Texas does it.

8. I wouldn't mind if WA adopted a system like Texas
This constant battle over having to sign a "loyalty oath" on the ballot is getting old. I wouldn't mind an open primary, closed caucus system.

nothing new... the explanation would probably actually explain little that makes sense.. "it's the way it is"...

7. It was awful. I could vote but couldn't caucus.
I just moved here from NY. I was also asked for my driver's license, there were no directions to the polls. I live in a poor, heavily dem area.

10. Not sure I know the real reason
I'd assume it might have to do with giving more say to more committed members of the party who are more likely to both caucus and vote in the primary than simply to vote in the primary (of course, the fact that we have open primaries kind of complicates that notion.)
