1. Logic test:
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 08:57 PM by lumberjack_jeff
a) Texas turned Democratic.
b) Republicans are voting disproportionately for Obama in the primary and intend to vote (R) in the general.

This is a timed test. You have six weeks to determine your answer.

We aren't "beating" the Republicans, they are flogging us.

19. Texas republicans are as likely to vote to stop a woman as they are
a black person.

4. Considering that all the RW radio folks are asking people to vote for Hillary
I'd say you should wait for the breakdowns.

6. You know...
I'm kinda sick of this bullshit answer about BOTH candidates...I actually know personally several republicans who plan on voting for Obama in the general if he gets the nomination, and a few who honestly support Clinton...sure it's anecdotal, but so fucking what...rush is pushing Hillary, others insist it's Obama the pukes want to run against and either way...who fucking cares!

9. You failed your own test.
The real answer is that republican turnout is low since their nominee is already decided. Nice try though.

24. Right. If the Democratic nominee were established and I had the opportunity to pick theirs..
... I'm sure I'd stay home too. Honest.

13. Niether of those. More Dems are voting b/c it's a competitive race, and
the GOP nomination has been settled already.

20. Someone responed to me by saying "it's an open primary," but it doesn't matter.
My point still remains, because the GOP nomination is over and the Dem primary is still competitive, more people are voting in the Dem contest.

2. Well...
For the Repubs, the candidate is already determined thanks to their winner take all system, for the us, it hasn't really been decided yet. Why waste your time voting if it doesn't matter? That and the fact that Repubs can be voting Democrat to try to skew the results.

7. Republicans are voting en masse to fuck up our elections here in Texas.
But there's no consensus on who they think will 'ruin' the party. The truth is: we'll simply never know who the Democrats really voted for here and we'll get what we get.

I'll tell you one thing though, I will bite the head off any idiot who thinks that Texas has gone 75%. Let's be serious.

8. I'm in 80% R county & my family/inlaws are probably higher % R. All but one voted in Dem primary
NONE will vote D in GE. IMHO, there was huge crossover.
By the way, the one who voted in the R primary said it was because he couldn't bring himself to vote in D primary (something about cooties).

Seriously, only 1 R I know voted in R primary. There simply wasn't any need to. Other than maybe sheriff race, there weren't really any downballot contests to vote for either (I checked the R sample ballot).

12. Many regions of Texas have a de-facto general in the Dem primary
Especially in East Texas. My home county has no Republican primary whatsoever - McCain/Huckabee will be their only choice. They're voting in the Democratic primary so they can elect a state rep, county judge, sheriff, etc. - this is a holdover from Reconstruction grievances - yes, Reconstruction.

Yet the county is overwhelmingly white, Baptist, and conservative. Wonder who they'll vote for in November?

the numbers are truly impressive

but mccain has this thing locked up. the vote doesn't mean nearly as much to them as the democrats. they even sent some of their people to screw around with our election

from skipping the Republican primary.
