So will the Republicans voting for Hillary in Texas balance out
the Republicans voting against her (i.e. for Barack)? Personally, I know too many Republicans that switched registration to vote against Clinton in my home state, so I'm wondering about this whole Limbaugh / Texas / Clinton thing. Who gains a net benefit out of this?

1. So did the Republicans that voted for Barack seriously
support him? I mean for real they are sick of their stupid party and they are even ready for change?

3. The ones I've spoken to personally simply despise Clinton
They haven't given it much thought beyond that, and the fact that their primary field has been so lackluster.

4. True. Then you have Coulter and Rush coming out for Clinton
I'm wondering just how large of an impact this strange reversal might have on this race.

9. I certainly don't believe either one, but many morons do
And that's what I'm asking about, whether or not their audience will listen to what they say.

15. Point taken. And a good one, too.
I thank you for the clarification.

5. I've got a friend who couldn't decide between Obama and Fred Thompson
I think Obama's rock star status has drawn him voters that have no idea what's going on. This friend seriously supports Obama, and barring something really drastic will vote for him in the GE, but he has no real idea why he's voting for him. He just likes the hope thing, I guess.

Not knocking Obama with that comment--my friend's ignorance of the issues is not Obama's fault, and he should take votes wherever he can get them. Just saying that at least some Republicans supporting Obama are genuine, but it has nothing to do with liberal or conservative, only with the frenzy around his candidacy. I'm sure some Texan Republicans are trying to pick the candidate they think McCain can most easily beat--that's all anyone on talk radio has talked about here in Austin (and San Antonio). But many are planning to vote for Obama in November, too.

Whatever the outcome, will be the outcome.

11. LOL, no that's incorrect
It simply means that any republican who votes in the Texas Dem primary is ineligible to vote in any republican runoff election this year. They can mark their general election ballot any way they please.

10. Republicans voted for Obama in Texas (53% to 47%)
Where did you get the information that Republicans voted for Clinton?

12. I was talking about the Nevada Republicans I've personally talked to
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 09:47 PM by NobleCynic
And a few from Utah. I'm not in Texas, so I was asking about people in Texas.

The 53 number is for overall results in the Texas primary, that doesn't necessarily give any insight as to how the Republicans who interfered have voted.

14. Probably neither
There are enough cancellation of each other that the new voters brought into the process cancel out the net.
