Obama Has Won More Blue States
It is just another Clinton lie that she has won the states we need to win in the fall. Not only has she not won the majority of blue states, she did not win the cities in the blue states she did win. She won those states by splitting the city/rural vote the same way the Republicans do. If you look at the map, Obama wins cities and progressives, and adds independent mountain and northwest voters. Even if she wins Ohio and Texas, they're red states anyway so they don't further the argument that we need her to win in November. Democrats, Independents, Republicans, the majority in all parts of the country have chosen Obama.

Obama:
WA, HI, MN, WI, IL, ME, CT, MD, DE, VT

Hillary:
CA, MA, NY, RI, NJ,

3. All of those states will be Blue this Fall no matter what.
Except maybe for Vermont because they're "different" as was pointed out by a Vemontian...Vermontanian...Vermonter... guy from Vermont to me.

18. of course you now that's nonsense
Vermont couldn't turn red if it tried. If Hillary's the nominee, Vermonters will vote for her, even if not with the kind of enthusiasm we feel for Obama. Vermont is the one state that's voted where the war was the number one issue. And Vermonters damn well know that McCain is not acceptable.

7. It looks like she is winning the only one that really matters anymore
Ohio. With the possible exceptions of Iowa and New Hampshire, most of the red states are staying red and the blue states will be blue. But Ohio, now that's another story. As Ohio goes...

And I say that as a supporter of neither. I think Obama would have a good chance of winning that state this fall too, but not as easy as it seems that Clinton would? It's too early to tell what the Ohio results actually mean, but I'm curious how the votes break down in that state.

I also think it's wonderfully ironic that I now see so many Obama posters saying that it doesn't matter if Clinton wins all 3 "big" ones tonight, that the super delegates will swing things back to Obama tomorrow. LOL, you just can't make this stuff up. And it's so nice not having a candidate- makes things much easier to take. :)

8. Oh nonsense
The people who are voting for her in Ohio are going to vote for McCain in November. Obama won the cities which is how Dems always win these states. The wins won't matter because it won't change the pledged delegate count, that's the point. If the superdelegates decide to end it tomorrow, they can, based on the fact Obama will still have more pledged delegates.

9. Again, I just find the potential reliance of the Obama campaign
the on the superdelegates to be highly entertaining.

Personally, I think both should withdraw for the good of the party and throw their delegates to Kucinich/Edwards. For the good of the country. :)

10. The Obama campaign is not relying on the superdelegates
That is absurd. He will still be ahead in pledged delegates tomorrow. The only thing the 50 superdelegates would do is convince the Clinton campaign it's over. She can't win at all without superdelegates.

Why does Hillary keep saying she has to be the candidate because she win California? You can win California and lose the election, look at Gore and Kerry.

Democrats shouldn't have hung their hats on those states for decades and tried talking to some voters in the rest of the country.

31. Does not count. The popular vote is NOT important.
Only the delegates. Right, fellas?

Although I did hear some muttering that superdelegates would not allow themselves to be used to overrule the popular vote. Who has that right now? Hmmmmmm?

26. So In Your Calculus A State Is A State And Winning Idaho Is As Impressive As Winning California
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 05:29 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
I'm sure you wouldn't endorse a point system where the person who wins the most states wins the most points and hence the election...

Under those rules the last Dem to win a general election in a two person race was Lyndon Johnson...

It's one of those states that can be lost to the Republicans. It's one state that I think Hillary can win, but Obama can't.

Nobody wants a Republican when we're facing bank failures and breadlines.

Most of you seem to think we're re-running 2000 or 2004. This is a whole new planet.

27. Obama's strength has been in caucus states
Where the rules for voting are much more lax. In many, its not even necessary to show you're a registered voter to participate.

Much of his support could be an illusion - people who voted for him in a caucus who may not be eligible to vote for him in the GE.
