Please take a look at CNN's district maps of Texas and Ohio
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 11:03 PM by awaysidetraveler
All the rural districts in Texas are at 100% right now.

The main cities still aren't being counted.

Likewise in Ohio, where it appears that she won, the cities are not being counted.

These numbers, like the others they gave on super tuesday,
unrealistically favor HRC.

She may win--might be a trifecta, and my hat's off to her if she does.
Yet these are still sketchy numbers, and they deserve a long hard look now.

They reveal the media at its worst.

1. And we're still waiting on Caucus Results.
I just don't get the doom & gloom. We all expected HRC to take Ohio, we expected RI. We thought it would be close in TX, and that's where it will be. We took VT.

End result isn't going to dent the Delegate lead.

3. That is right.
THe Caucus in TX offers a third of the TX delegates. He took VT handily, earned more delegates there than Hillary got in RI. I am still not sure she will gain on him. He still has the 50+ bloc of SuperD's, plus MS and WY in the next week.

5. My doom and gloom in a nutshell.
John McCain's touting party unity,
which is what we're losing tonight.

Obama has a chance at closing this deal tonight,
and CNN will play us on our divisions for as long as they can.

2. That's funny because MY rural county
only has early voting posted.
I SAW the numbers before I left the caucus and it shows with early voting and todays voting--Hillary took 65% of the county.
On the SOS page it only shows 15%.

Remember the media...CNN is not ALWAYS a reliable source, especially when they are trying to sway the results.

27. Yes, they also have something to gain by a long drawn out campaign.
And that's media ratings.

4. You're right, but it sounds like the networks tok that into consideration.
They most likely have more info that we do. Perhapse parts of the cities have been reported already and when those parts show a lopsided vote, the networks felt confident calling the State. If you listened to the TV reporting, almost all night they were saying the major counties in Ohio haven't reported yet, then suddenly they called the State. I think they received at least the first reports.

7. I suspect that she did win Ohio, but not by 57%. Their own data shows a consistent skew
favoring HRC during the course of the election.

It's only visible right now, so I'm pointing it out while everyone can still see it.

10. I don't think anyone is saying anything about a % win. What you see
right now is the current reported totals only!

12. Look at how it's presented.

54% of precincts reporting. Only there's eleven million people in Ohio--not one and a half--and most of them live in cities.

It builds an unrealistic presentation of her possibilities, and it does so for theatrical media purposes.

Now for her "landslide" speech.

If you ever have to stop in Vidor, don't.

20. Repukes voted for her because THEY WANT TO RUN AGAINST HER IN THE GE.
It's simple. They fear Obama and know they can kick her ass, so they had Rush out earlier asking his Dittoheads to vote for her.

And are there any democrats there to stop them?

No.

9. Oh I'm afraid alright....
Of exactly this kind of divisive laughter, at a moment when the media is visible in its advocacy of our division.

Laugh away... all the way to a McCain presidency.

17. Hear! Hear! The HillBots are delusional if they think she has a chance in the general election.
Hillary will go down in flames and rightly will become a pariah in the party. I'm looking forward to her losing her Senate seat as disgusted voters turn on her.

14. Some weird shit on that map though: some counties showing 0% with thousands of votes.
It seems I remember one county showing over 10,000 total votes cast with 0% reporting. I don't think there are that many voters in either Houston or Dallas, maybe combined.

Houston, Austin, and Dallas go for Obama but San Antonio and El Paso go for Hillary. Just a guess.

22. It's changing again, now the percentages went up to 14% in Harris County
without adding any significant numbers of votes that show 14%

These numbers are cooked for a long HRC show.
