right at this moment...that's not my issue. Tonight is Senator Clinton and her supporters moment to celebrate. A whole lot of our fellow Democrats worked their asses off to make this happen. Am I happy for her or them? Well not for her but the very last thing on my depressed mind right now is to be poking a stick at my fellow dems who have worked so hard to turn Senator Clinton's chances around.
I am depressed tonight in a way that my fellow dems who supported Senator Clinton were a mere two weeks ago but, in my secret soul of souls, I know that this process needs to play itself out for those who have not had the chance to even vote in these primaries and caucuses because they live in states that get that opportunity down the road from today. Like it or no, Senator Clinton's victory tonight gives them this chance. FAIR IS FAIR
No, I came to this thread originally to join a fellow DUer whom I felt was taking the high road but then I was shocked by seeing the mixed post... Attract them in and dull the victory by reminding them of the realities of the delegate spread. Remind them of the battle they yet face.
I was angered and embarrassed when I saw your post, but then I figured there are enough frayed nerves here in the DU tonight, maybe I should quickly delete my thoughts and just let this dog sleep.... my apologies to you because I could not hold my temper or my embarrassment in check.
I will approve only the part of your post which congratulates our fellow DUers in their victory this night. I am so sick of seeing our party torn asunder, if it is not too much to ask, could you perhaps try just a little to not drive that wedge in further? There is still mCcain to beat and frankly I worry that Senator Clinton may not be able to win against him...she just may need OUR help. Trust me here, the depression you and I feel now will be far FAR worse should Senator mCcain win. I suspect that will be little comfort to the good citizens of Tehran when President mCcain drops a nuke on them huh....
Tomorrow we need to get back to work, each of us in our way, and fight for our candidates. One of them will be the nominee and once that happens we will need each other my fellow DUer...it would be my druthers that we don't have to beg the supporters of Senator Clinton to hold their noses and come to America's aid should we be so fortunate...I have made it quite clear to Senator Clinton's supporters over the past few months, that they can count on me to be there fighting shoulder to shoulder with them should you and I be less fortunate.
That, my fellow Obama supporter, is where my head is at. Tonight is their night, they earned it, they have earned my praise for their hard work. That is what is truly important to me.
