3. Proof that caucuses benefit Obama more because of their elitist nature.
:hi: :)

10. I was at one tonight and I can assure you I'm not the slightest bit elite.

25. I only follow my heart and mind and I voted for Hillary.
BTW, my caucus was very low key, everyone just talking and laughing, waiting for the late voters to finish. I was there about 3 freaking hours, but it felt good.

Oh yeah, I can pretty much say that everyone knew who they were going to vote for and stuck to it. No changing minds at at.

29. I've heard nightmare stories about caucuses. I don't think they're democratic because of pressure.
There's a reason that polling places make it *illegal* to campaign in the polling place. Coercion. I'm not saying all caucuses are like that, but I think most of them are, by and large.

BTW, I support Hillary only because of the vitrol pointed at her now on these forums. If I had my way I'd still be campaigning for Al gore here. ;)

Well, the pushiest wins in a caucus, right?
It's used car salesman heaven.

Yep, remember how Hillary's campaign posted that memo to be "more pushy"? And people acted as if...
...it wasn't part of the process? It's garbage. Such tactics are *illegal* in both Party Primaries and General Primaries! It is *illegal* to even put up a *campaign button*!

4. Ehhhh, Who Cares. Caucuses Are Dumb.
The primary vote is what really matters, and I can't wait to see how that turns out.

6. I hope you know 1/3 the Texas delegates are from the caucus
so if the primary is close, you obviously should care.

13. Doesn't Mean It's Not A Disenfranchising Mind Numbingly Stupid Process.
Totally dumb. They're just totally dumb. We picked class presidents in grade school with a better process.

18. well you said who cares......
even if you don't like them, dismissing this by just saying eh who cares is really dumb.

the texas caucus will determine who gets more delegates for the night, and that is really all that matters.

11. Since I voted AND caucused today, I feel comfortable agreeing. Caucus=dumb.
I don't know understand why any state uses caucuses. They're much less flexible for those of who work and/or have small children. Not at all secret. And TX is the dumbest to have BOTH. I don't know why TX goes to the trouble of having days of early voting so everyone can vote and then has a significant number of delegates assigned from having to be at the poll within a 1/2 time frame.
End of mini-rant.

17. Someone tried to explain Texas voting to me today and failed.
I can't even figure how you figure what to add up. It's the nuttiest thing I ever heard. You voted AND caucused? Don't people get arrested for double voting?

Pffft!
Caucuses bring party members face to face and create networking and friendships.

And, most importantly, they're fun! :D

22. I'm looking at it more at party building in a state that really needed this turnout.
Don't take me wrong. I do understand where you're coming from, I just don't agree at this moment because I'm on a Democratic grassroots high.

I expect I'll come down in a week or so and make more sense. :hi:

26. Timing was an issue for me in the past when I wanted to be a delegate
You can always be a delegate next time if your schedule permits.

Being secretary is an important job. I thank you for doing it even if you weren't in my precinct.

We had a tough time electing a secretary tonight because they insisted on having an even mix Obama supporters vs. Hillary supporters running things. We finally got that mess settled down though and got on to business.

If Obama wins the caucus vote - I still think it makes tonight a draw. And a tie goes to the leader!

20. If we held the general election by caucuses.... Thankfully we let people who
can't be available for 2 hours between 7 and 9 PM vote then. But of course it's wise to include such anti-democratic election methods into our nomination process. :puke:

as soon as the results start to come in. I almost wish Hill would win one so they'd suddenly change their minds LOL.
