2025

2025 is the magic number.

Neither one of them can realistically get it. Without 2025, you are not the nominee.

Neither one is going anywhere - and they shouldn't. This thing is going to the convention.

Clinton/Obama is the dream ticket. With that ticket, we get 16 years of Democratic Presidents. We will own the supreme court. Obama will be an awesome president after eight years as Veep.

He is only 47 years old. He doesn't need experience for the VP job. And he'd get all he needed. He'd make a great VP - it's a highly visible position.

And it would make him president of the Senate as well.

Clinton/Obama is the dream ticket.

(Edited to add: Dream ticket if you actually want a dem to win. If you just want your candidate to win and don't give a shit about the bigger picture... well, good luck with that.)

4. 40 states
That ticket would win in 40 states.

3. I'm much more open to that ticket now than I was in the beginning.
Only because I thought it was too much of a risk for the Democratic Party to take. Now I am having second thoughts and think that the combination may be our best bet.

5. Dream ticket my ass
I don't want any Clinton/McAullife slime anywhere near the White House. Even if Obama were the VP nominee I could not vote for it.

7. NO. The bloodletting that has happened (and will continue to)...
forbids it.

Howard Dean won't be able to referee this, IMO.

8. Obama would be better off
just gaining seniority in the senate for the next 4-8 years. I hope he doesn't accept a VP spot. Why should HE be the VP anyway? He will go into the convention with the delegate lead.

Since it will be difficult or impossible for either to attain 2025 delegates, it's all about winning enough committed elected delegates and convincing super delegates. Then there's the whole mess with MI and FL.

I personally don't like Hillary and don't want her to win the nomination, but I don't blame her for sticking around this long. She has a core constituency of support and she's getting them out to the polls. Granted, IMO the matter in which she's doing that is reprehensible and playing to the lowest common denominator of politics (pandering to fear for one) but then again it could simply be demographics and the fact is she does better with seniors and women. That's a huge chunk of the Dem electorate.

As for the "dream ticket", I think Obama would be an effective VP candidate. He'd certainly be a LOT more exciting than Vilsack or Bayh or whichever other DLC hack she'd want to pick. I suppose Obama's concern would be "could she win"? and he should take it after considering that..

13. With these candidates, that is the best scenario

Obama's not ready to be President. Clinton is. Obama will make a great President in eight years.

14. it certainly will help McCain
putting a candidate on the ticket who is so disloyal to her party.

People don't like disloyalty, and the Clintons are known for that.

Now they just got a reminder.

At least with McCain, he'll probably end up in a old folks home before he
can serve a second term.
