The lack of graciousness of the Obama supporters who are unable to even
allow the Clinton supporters their moment of victory is really disappointing. There are some really fine Obama supporters who had already made plans to be gracious to the Hillary supporters if Hillary lost but they are apparently not joined in their graciousness by others now that Hillary has won these primaries. It is really too bad some are trying to find a way of "cheapening" or denying her win. Obama won some primaries and no one took credit away or denied his wins were worth anything.

You people have really lost a hold on reality.

4. "no one took credit away or denied his wins were worth anything."

A) Hillary herself never acknowledged losing any primaries to Obama

B) Hillary supporters completely disregarded the importance of the 28 states that Obama has won.

Get off your high horse. Hillary supporters completely ignored every win Obama has had.

and NOW! They are completely ignoring the fact that two states... Wyoming and Mississippi... even EXIST!

on the last couple days of clintons campaign. i am sorry that you are disappointed in me that i cannot graciously congratulate her and you. but i have been yelling at republicans and rw christians for 8 yrs for allowing bushco methods and dissing his opponent and the cowardliness and weakness that they did not stand up to their own people.

now you want me to be quiet. and i cant. i am sorry. and i am sorry. i wish hillary didn't pull this shit, but SHE did.

I don't care if you don't respect me because all that means is that you have a pretty low opinion of yourself. You don't know me and vice-versa so I don't take it personally. You seem to take this whole campaign, and Obama, very personally.

And your last remark is very strange.

O-bots and Obamatrons, I am not feeling very gracious.... especially after reading so many complaints this week about the terms like "Hillbot." Hillary supporters have been complaining about the same things they throw at us, so y'all make it hard to feel like being gracious.

All that being said, when it comes to the GE, I will be THRILLED as long as a Dem wins.

36. Here's an honest, non-snarky answer
I'd really like to congratulate the Clinton supporters and look forward to another few weeks or months of political junkie heaven, but her campaign tactics have really disgusted me over the past week.

I'm not a huge Obama{bot, driod, whatever}, I just think he's a better strategic choice than Hillary. But I know that his best response now is to go after her hard, bring up Norman Hsu and Marc Rich and, for all we know, Whitewater and the Rose Law Firm. It's going to get nasty, it's going to ugly and it's going to kill a lot of the enthusiasm that has built up for Democrats over this primary season.

I think Hillary staying in this race is bad for the party and bad for the country. Her scorched-earth, Rove-inspired politics hurt herself as much as they hurt Obama. My fear is that, by the time we get to the convention, the nominee will be too damaged to win against McCain in the fall.

though i voted for him, but not high on enthusiasm. and i mean it sincerely too, without snarkiness. i hadnt been in this gp room at all. came in yesterday and saw what hillary was doing and that was it..... HATE the dirty politics.

and you are right. since so many hillary supporters are now saying dirty politics ok, way it is suppose to be, always has been. who would you prefer in a fight. why of course, the one that plays dirty

then really, .... doesnt that leave obama open for all the many many clinton weaknesses.

i would prefer not to see it. or for obama to reduce himself to it.

Please don't use a broad brush saracat; I posted in a few threads congrats to Hillary and her supporters tonight.

Hillary's success today will carry on the trench wars another month or 2 or 3.

If anything, we (the Dems/DU) are more polarized then ever and it grows worse.

No need to add to it.

Somehow, we will need to reunify as a party when this is all over. Insulting the other candidate or his/her supporters NEVER works. And I don't care which side your on.

52. It's also sad how many HRC folk have used their limited OPs on this historic night to criticize
Obama supporters. But oh well, to each their own.

"It is really too bad some are trying to find a way of "cheapening" or denying her win. Obama won some primaries and no one took credit away or denied his wins were worth anything."

Actually, that's happened to Obama supporters all the time. Two weeks ago was a pretty big night for Obama and his supporters, and there were the usual cries of cult, of "he only wins open primaries," of "he doesn't win democratic states," and, of course, a sudden surge in "I'll never vote for him in the general election" posts. So, yeah, Obama supporters have faced the same thing. (And, just as some HRC supporters are using their posts to bash Obama supporters rather than to celebrate their win, two weeks ago there were Obama folk doing the same thing in reverse.)

Unfortunately this is gonna get really ugly now. The last 2 months will be nothing compared to what we're about to experience - Obama will not go down without a fight and Clinton has proven that negative campaigning can give her an edge when she needs it.

I'm expecting to see the gloves come off now and I'm

61. I'll give her credit for winning, but I think she ran a pretty nasty campaign.
Definitely getting into Bush/McCain South Carolina 2000 territory in terms of shady tactics, innuendo, etc.

It's worth something. She won. If it were against a Republican, I'd probably be cool with it. But against someone who is still fairly likely to be the standard bearer or even a VP, and at very least a rising star in the Party for decades to come, it seems wrong to me. I can handle a campaign going negative against the bad guys, but this is some serious infighting, and you can see from GD-P that it's toxic for the party.

Still, she won, she got some more delegates, and I congratulate her for that.

68. I see an awful lot of gloating from the Clinton camp tonight.
Why should anyone be motivated to be gracious losers in the face of such nastiness?

70. I'll congratulate both candidates
Hillary won the popular vote but didn't gain near enough delegates to put a dent in Obama's overall lead. :D

72. that might have something to do with the fact
that Hillary's wins tonight are an unmitigated disaster for the Democratic party. We could have picked a nominee tonight. Instead the groundhog saw his shadow and we will have seven more weeks of Democratic infighting before the next real contest, which will again not decide anything so we move on to Indiana and North Carolina and South Dakota and Puerto Rico. Especially now that Hillary found that negative campaigning works and that Republicans have a nominee and thus have no reason not to switch and cause trouble for the Democrats in the remaining primaries.

But we should somehow be gracious and charming about the fact that the candidate we have opposed and detested since the beginning of the campaign now has a reason to stay in the race even though she hopefully still cannot win it, or worse yet, might still find a way to win. Don't expect there to be joy in mudville when some people believe that the results of the game really do matter.
