I'm assuming Obama will have the delegate lead going into the convention.

Gore will get the conventional dems. And he will have the advantage of not having been bloodied up in the primary.

Obama will draw on his base. To pass him over for the VP slot, after he's finished with more delegates, more states and more popular vote, with all the new people he's brought into the party, in favor of someone who hasn't even campaigned would be suicide for the democrats.

It's an unbeatable ticket.
