A Toast ...
To all of the Hillary supporters here who have contributed to her success tonight through your hard work, your phone-banking, your door-to-door campaigning, your financial contributions and your faith in your candidate of choice, congratulations!

I have no doubt that your individual efforts on all levels have had a real impact, and her success tonight should be savoured and enjoyed by each and every one of you!

As most of you know, I am an Obama supporter. And truth be told, I am still confident in my candidate's ability to win the nomination - just as you are confident in yours.

But tonight is your night!

:toast: :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

Congratulations to all of you who worked so hard for your candidate - she wouldn't be enjoying tonight's successes without you!

So the battle goes on - and may the best candidate DEFEAT the GOP in November!

:patriot:

1. Very gracious gesture
I don't like this "Texas Two-Step"...but it allowed me to do one thing...vote my conscience in the primary and my party in the caucus.

8. I have to admit ...
... the Texas Two-Step thing totally boggles my mind!

It's like they all got drunk one night and said, "Hey, whadda ya say we really make this thing as convoluted and confusing as is humanly possible?"

15. I can admit that I haven't met ONE person who enjoyed it
It seems to me it was designed to give unfair advantages to certain candidates and to give an opening for backroom politics and deals.
Of course this has nothing to with Obama...the rules were written long before he came along.

Nance, you always have such a way with words, and sentiment.
Congrats to the Clintonites. I know how intense it is to work in a primary, and how good it must feel to succeed.

16. Obama supporter here ...
... and I'll be proud to be a Hillary supporter should she win the nomination.

(Nice to be stuck having to choose between two candidates who both stand head-and-shoulders above anything the GOP have to offer!)

12. Since Nance is so cool...
... I gotta give a Kick to the Clinton Crowd. It was a good night for you indeed!!!

I had much of my heart and soul invested in Obama, and I remain invested and will fight to the finish, and I voted, and my area won big, but I have to hand it to you guys.

Nance is a class act.

14. You have nerves of steel and the grace of a swan.
I guess that's why you have class. With all the mudslinging and insults still in progress, you shine. Congrats to Clinton supporters from this Obama supporter as well.

18. As always, CalPeg ...
... thank you (you are too kind to me, really!)

I think it is increasingly important for all of us to remember that while we are currently cheering for our favourite players, what matters in the end is that we're all rooting for a win for the HOME TEAM!

19. I am most distinctly not being kind, sweetie...
Your writing regularly inspires me...

And of course I agree completely about what matters in the end...

The Home Team trumps everything!

20. Another recommendation from this Obama supporter.... PLUS
Supporters of Senator Clinton:
You worked your asses off to get this victory tonight. I am surprised and impressed with your accomplishment! Which ever candidate gets the nomination, I look forward to fighting shoulder to shoulder with you against Senator mCcain. You are indeed pretty scrappy fighters! Ones with the heart of your convictions, ones who won't give up when the going gets tough!

I have not read the other threads regarding the future events that have unfolded from tonight. One thing that happened: Our fellow Dems who reside in states which have yet to participate in this process, shall now be given a chance to do so. I celebrate that fact as well and we have YOU my fellow DUers to thank for helping to give them that opportunity.
I :patriot: you and add my :toast: to you.

NanceGregs: Thank you for this post. My :toast: to you as well. You make me proud to be a fellow member of the Democratic Underground.
