Barack is still the frontrunner
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 02:41 AM by barack the house
I know it is very easy to forget that still by probably 100 delegates. So, everything is pretty cool from where I am standing it's all about delegates and we've got those, thank you. Carry on the celebrations. Congratulations btw.

1. I hear dozens of superdelegates will flock to Obama in the next week.
Anyone have links, or is this just a rumor?

24. Heard it too, but not sure if it will still happen
I think the idea was that the superdelegates would flock to him to get it wrapped up, but she did better than expected last night so I can't see them pushing her out of the race now. I hope it still happens, but I am not counting on it.

She may get some mileage out of this, but in reality she didn't win much in the way of delegates.

8. I think she has more Joementum than anything else.
In the days ahead, it will become clear that a convention victory is simply not possible for Clinton. The best she could hope for is to force a brokered convention.

12. Ha! That Axelrod quote is awesome.
"If Sen. Clinton wants to take the debate to various places, we'll join that debate. We'll do it on our terms and in our own way, but if she wants to make issues like ethics and disclosure and lawfirms and real estate deals and all that stuff issues, as I've said before I don't know why they'd want to go there, but I guess that's where they'll take the race."

Sounds ominous.

10. Good thing so many of the superdelegates are vowing to vote the
will of the people, i.e. the winner of the pledged delegates. :)

5. The significance of WHICH states she has won will not be lost on party leaders & super delegates.
100 delegates in light of that is not a meaningful 'lead', especially with FL being taken out of the equation. The party knows it will have to count FL and Mi somehow, either seat the delegates or re-do.....which she'll win again.

14. I doubt it.
First, there's no guarantee she'd win Michigan. Second, we'll see just how many Obama leads by in the coming days. I believe it will be by more than 100.

20. Probably they will have to include FL and Mi somehow, but
they won't deliver victory to Hillary. By my (generous to Hillary) projections, she can't win without picking up another 80 superdelegates.

16. TONIGHTS DELEGATE COUNT: Obama +179 delegates, Clinton +189 delegates
fun to speculate and I really have no clue, so I'll just try to proportionally assign the delegates based on the current count in the states per the NYTimes.com front page.

from tonight's action, I'd estimate:

Obama picks up 179 delegates
Clinton picks up 189 delegates

1) Texas - 193 delegates
a) Primary (65% of state delegates are assigned via the primary)
HRC - 63
BO - 62

(i got these numbers from the actual TX secretary of state website)

b) Caucus (35% of the state delegates are assigned via the caucus)
assuming the BO55-HRC45 split
HRC - 30
BO - 38

2) Ohio - 141 delegates
assuming the BO43-HRC55 split
HRC - 78
BO - 61

3) Rhode Island - 21 delegates
assuming the BO40-HRC58 split
HRC - 12
BO - 9

4) Vermont - 15 delegates
assuming the BO60-HRC38 split
HRC - 6
BO - 9

Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 12:54 AM by barack the house
Barack lost his lead by only a few he is way ahead. Republicans primary is winner take all Democrats share our cake. That is how Jhn Edwards got delegates.
