Do you actually think that the Republicans won't attack the thought of Bill Clinton being back in the White House?
"The unfaithful husband" card will always be in the GOP pocket ready to be played. And they WILL play it. They won't just play it...they will beat us to death with it.
It will be 30 seconds of hugs and blue dresses with grim voice overs...over and over and over again.
Is it fair? No. Is it right? No. But it is the truth. They will beat down HRC like a terror suspect at Gitmo. (metaphorically...) They will grab Bill by the ankles and beat this nation unconscious with him.
The right wingers love "marriage" so much so they will do anything to maintain the image of it's sanctity. They will lie, cheat and make themselves miserable and when they catch one of their own cheating they are merciless. Marriage infidelity is a very important item for conservatives in the public eye. That is why Guliani never had a chance. His own party turned on him after it was found he was cycling through wives using his position and influence.
Make no mistake. I will support HRC as nominee. But I also will be deeply saddened because I know what will come of the campaign. It will be ugly, smarmy and seedy. the GOP will hold no stops. It will drag america down. And ultimately HRC would win. Leaving the opposition bitter and defeated and a Presidency marked by constant attacks by the media on her husband. Distraction and obstruction will the the tactic for the GOP. If HRC is in the white house they only way her Presidency will be successful is to ensure a Democratic super majority in the House and Senate. The GOp will have to be totally beaten down. Are we ready to do that?
Maybe it is our fate as a nation. To continue to divide. Maybe we have not fallen far enough yet. Suffered enough yet. Maybe we have yet to see the last throws of a obsolete political movement. ONe thing is for sure. UNtil the Republicans are smashed and powerless, their shill voices silenced in the media the 33% ers will still rally and make all our lives as miserable as thiers.
This nation is drowning. Drowning in debt, war, misery and poverty and the last thing we need is to be thrown a boat anchor. As much as I know HRC is capable, qualified and will work faithfully as our President. She is still is carrying the boat anchor this nation does not need right now and that anchor is Bill Clinton. It may be nice and shiny, and well suited. But you can't swim with a boat anchor... without help.
If that is what is to be...then I guess lets have at it. We all better be prepared to jump in and keep HRC afloat if it comes to a HRC nomination.
Always keep in mind that we need to see more Dems in congress in November regardless of who is our nominee.
