Now It Gets Dangerous for Democrats
<snip> The senator from Illinois must be damaged, badly, or so the theory goes, in order for the senator from New York to grab the Democratic nomination from his clutches.

Make no mistake: The candidate and her Clintonistas have sought to inflict that damage.

If I deserve it, I'm not nearly as touchy.

15. no, I'm being a jerk
Just watching TV and catching up on what I missed from last night when I was at work. This little stray caught my eye, and . . .

Hey, your guy ran an awesome campaign in Texas. The masses of volunteers were impressive. :hi:

16. Gah! Bloody Texas! It's the one state that surprised me.
Everywhere else, I not only called the winner, I called the margin within a couple points. But Texas ... I gotta admit, I was stunned. Especially after the first returns came back showing Obama in the lead by exactly what I thought the final numbers would be (52-48 Obama), but of course, all that early voting didn't reflect the day-of vote -- not by a long shot.

Ah well. Really, if/when Obama does win the nomination, I think this is good for him. Better that he get a chance to respond to attacks now than get blindsided in the general.

And as for me, though Obama is my preferred candidate, not only will I pull the lever for Hillary if she wins the nomination, I will do so proudly.

12. I'm not seeing 'clintonista' in this Limpball quote...
from the article...
Here is what conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh said about the prospect of a continuing contest for the Democratic presidential nomination on the eve of the Ohio primary and the Texas primacaucuses that have – with "good enough" finishes for Hillary Clinton -- assured the race will go on:

"We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically."

Limbaugh explained to fellow right-wing gabber Laura Ingraham – yes, they are now interviewing each other -- that Obama has gotten this far in his race for the presidency with most of his popular appeal intact. As such, he would be hard to beat as the Democratic nominee in a race with Republican John McCain.

"I want our party to win. I want the Democrats to lose. They're in the midst of tearing themselves apart right now. It's fascinating to watch, and it's all going to stop if Hillary loses," Limbaugh argued, as he suggested that Republicans in primary states should cross party lines to vote for Clinton.

18. REPUBLICANS HAVE TOO MUCH PRIDE TO VOTE DEMOCRAT...
Obama has become his own worst enemy. He's running on the judgment issue and Rezko puts that judgment front and center. He has to answer that question, that's not negative, that's wanting the truth. There are still many questions about how he came to power and who's he tied to and the Republicans will hammer that issue day and night unless he resolves it now. His interview with Katie Couric puts his foreign policy judgment into question, when at one of the debates he said Iran was the most dangerous country, and now his focus is on Pakistan. My candidate has long since let the race but looking at the two left, I guess I would have to ask myself the question "if I had a Son or Daughter heading to war, would I want my next president leading an anti war rally instead of getting behind him/her and making sure they had the tools and the troops needed to keep them safe." It's a legitimate question, and I don't know how Obama can justify that speech. Hillary is right on the health care issue, if not everyone is covered, the costs cannot be controlled....Health care costs have risen, because the Hospitals/Doctors are billing us extra to help pay for those who did not pay. Assume just one uninsured patient gets cancer and the bills top one million dollars....there goes your cost controls. I'm still not 100% behind either candidate, but as I listen carefully to the two, I am leaning more Hillary's direction.
