A bad night for the Republican Party. John McCain has been
nominated as their standard-bearer for 08. He can be washed and waxed up on cinderblocks in the front yard, but he sure runs slow on the open road. My friends.

A trio of impressive victories for Sen. Clinton. I congratulate her.

Respectable race in Texas by Sen. Obama. I congratulate him.

And IMO the personal stock of Gov. Richardson shot way up last night. I think he is at the big poker table with a very serious hand.

1. I completely agree-it will be hard for him to stay in the public eye

2. Very key point there on the MSM. I'd forgotten to factor that in, and you're right --
it is going to be really interesting to see how the manage the ideas of the campaigns between now and some time when either the Dem delegates move to one or the other of the two candidates (or to neither) and the time Howard Dean decides how quickly and in what way he wants this resolved.

3. Can you even imagine hearing "my friends" for 4 years?

5. Nice analysis, clear & to the point.
I've said from the beginning that any of our candidates would wipe the floor with any of theirs. We had a great field (arguably the best dropped out early), and they had a pack of losers. I've had my preferences, of course, but either way, we win, and I sure won't complain about that.

6. Yes -- we have to put the full-court press on McCain, not only to
defeat him soundly but to extend our ticket's coattails all the way up and down the ballot.
