Obama's "rope-a-dope" will win the fight
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 01:15 PM by ResetButton
I hope Obama doesn't lose his cool and give in to pressure to go negative. As we've seen from the debates, his charm, grace, and poise effectively disarms Hillary when she's trying desperately to draw him in. If he stays on message and out of the fray, and continues to pick up delegates, he will TKO Hillary before the convention.

Edit: revising my assessment of Obama's strategy cuz of this

Maybe it is time to hit back...

1. I think you're right.
He needs to answer specific attacks, but not start any mudslinging.

2. Agreed. He's centered naturally, it seems, so good chance
he'll stay that way.

4. It seems like Hillary is the bully who keeps pushing Barack around and
that she is going to keep doing this until he fights back. It is really getting sickening. I think it's about time that the Obama campaign stop letting the Clinton campaign choose the media's stories for them. I'm not suggesting he go negative. I hope he doesn't but someone needs respond to Wolfson and Penn. I mean, have people really forgotten about travelgate, filegate, Whitewater and Hillary's investment winfall. Hillary is not holier than thou and people (the voters) need to be reminded of this.

5. YES - We need to show the vast advantages of Obama as president
and that is easy to do.

7. I'm not so sure about that...
The Clinton's now smell blood in the water and they will go after FLA/MI delegates like Jaws.

Hillary won the last week by going negative and Obama took the high road (as usual); look what happened.

He needs to counter-punch more aggressively and NOT LET Hillary stay on the offensive. His focus needs to be on her, not John McCain. The problem with rope-a-dope is Hillary intends to both take the fight beyond 15 rounds and also wants to change the rules.

If FLA or MI are relevant in 3 months, they could make or break Obama's nomination.

He needs to lose his cool at least a little - too much disingenuous bullshit to lay on the ropes. At least he should hit back on that McCain experience comment!

8. Could be, but I'm hoping that OH/TX/RI was an anomaly and not a political sea change
where negativity will prevail. Of course the MSM live for a divisive race, so they may play the crap up leaving Obama no choice but to come out swinging.

9. Lots of fighter references from the media last night
"Glass jaw" Obama was one.

I heard one of the CNN dudes say...something like... "Hillary is like a fighter who has cut her opponent and will keep hitting on the cut so the wound won't close"

10. Maybe they inspired me (puke)
My thinking is literally let her flail and burn herself, and the American people, out. But if that doesn't work then yeah, unload both barrels on her.

11. Rope A Dope doesn't win the fight
Rope A Dope tires your opponent out while
they, for instance, throw the kitchen sink at you.
Rope A Dope only works if THEN you come
after them with a Ali-sized smackdown.
Good clean punishing body blows.
Merely surviving only gets you second place.
You gotta knock em out.

Gobama!

12. John Kerry
Jesus christ you people don't pay attention to any sort of history do you?

If you want to beat the Right Wing machine you have to be negative and attack. This is why Hillary is the better candidate to beat them.

13. 12 straight wins says you're wrong
Obviously he can't lay down and let her walk all over him, but I think he could lose part of his advantage if gets sucked into playing by their rules.
