Don't kid yourself that this could be a problem - that's the media feeding you a line of shit, as usual. I saw the same thing happen in 2002 when Bob Casey Jr. and Ed Rendell battled it out in the democratic primary for governor. People wanted Ed to drop out because it would waste valuable resources and hamper the ultimate Democratic nominee. Ultimately Ed won, even though he was the underdog, and went on to run a strong general election beating the republican by double digits.

Everyday I read the IMDB news (Internet Movie Database) and everytime there is a debate with the democrats or a special news show (ABC did something for Super Tuesday I believe) IMDB will mention the ratings the next day and here's the scoop - the ratings are HOT!! No, not American Idol hot, but way higher than previous years. Why? Because we have ourselves a race and the general public is actually interested in watching about it. They're watching the debates and they're watching election coverage because we have a real dogfight going on in the democratic primaries.

Personally I hope this goes thru to the convention and here's why. Because since like forever, the conventions have had little coverage because let's face it - we know the nominee and it's a real snooze fest on that aspect. But if we go in there with a dogfight we're going to have more viewers turning in. And perhaps they'll get to see the new rising stars in politics like Obama in '04 and Clinton in '88. Perhaps they'll hear the message first hand about what the democrat party is all about. They're not going to get that if they aren't watching and right now they are.

McCain, I think is gonna be easy to beat provided the machines are all screwed up. Let the battle continue on because this is the best free advertising that any candidate is going to get - it's the news and not just on some obscure local channel but your local evening news.

While McCain skips a major key state like Pennsyvania you'll have Obama and Clinton criss-crossing it and trying to win it - getting their message out today about the democratic party.

This is a great election, I'm trying to see if I can get the money together to go to the Convention - it'll be the best one yet!

1. It WOULD be good if they'd start attacking McCain/ Bushco instead of this silliness

People WERE very interested, and there was an eager audience for a fresh start and interesting debate.... had they chosen to make the debate about the Bush legacy the fact that the dem candidate is undecided would've been useful... wouldve kept people enthralled up till the convention.

But now.... the fact is, going negative turns people off in a big way, and results in lower turnout... that's why its done to simply change the dynamic... no one don't gets more votes for smearing, everyone gets less, smearer and smear-ee. It is antidemocracy in action.
