Hillary Clinton is the new Tonya Harding
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 08:28 PM by pstans
It seems Clinton's plan is to be the new Tonya Harding. Her only strategy will be to go for Obama's knees and make sure Barack is bloodied at the end of the race...

From the http://www.thenation.com/blogs/thebeat?bid=1&pid=294426">Nation...

What is getting started is an edgier, rougher Democratic presidential race. And don't think that the New York senator will pull any punches.

If the Clinton campaign has learned anything from the two-week campaign that preceded the Ohio and Texas votes, it is that Hillary Clinton will not win unless Barack Obama loses. The senator from Illinois must be damaged, badly, or so the theory goes, in order for the senator from New York to grab the Democratic nomination from his clutches. Make no mistake: The candidate and her Clintonistas have sought to inflict that damage.

This campaign moves so fast that it is easy to forget everything that happens in a two-week timespan. But, since Clinton lost Wisconsin's February 19 primary, the hits really have kept coming. There was "Barack stole lines from Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick" hit. There was the "Barack stole a page from Karl Rove when he sent out negative mailings" hit. There was the "Barack dresses like a Muslim" hit. There was the "Barack's campaign told the Canadians one thing about trade and Ohio another thing" hit. There was the "Barack's not the guy you want answering the phone in the White House" hit. There was even the "Barack's defiling the memory of Ann Richards because she would have wanted Hillary to have a clean shot at the nomination" hit. And always, always, always, there was the steady drumbeat from candidate Clinton that: ""I have a lifetime of experience I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech (against authorizing President Bush to attack Iraq) he made in 2002."

Now, the strategy has been sufficiently-if-not-completely validated.

The whole "NAFTA-gate" was a bit of a blunder on his part. This was news for the two days prior to the vote, and I believe it made people question his honesty.

33. It sure did.. Thats Chicago politics for ya! Then again, it all begins here..
“Barack Obama and his Slumlord Patron”

http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/353829,CST-NWS-rez23.article.

From the article:

“For more than five weeks during the brutal winter of 1997, tenants shivered without heat in a government-subsidized apartment building on Chicago’s South Side.

It was just four years after the landlords — Antoin “Tony” Rezko and his partner Daniel Mahru — had rehabbed the 31-unit building in Englewood with a loan from Chicago taxpayers.”

“”Their buildings were falling apart,” said a former city official. “They just didn’t pay attention to the condition of these buildings.”

Eleven of Rezko’s buildings were in Obama’s state Senate district.”

“Obama role unclear:
Just what legal work — and how much — Obama did on those deals is unknown. His campaign staff acknowledges he worked on some of them. But the Rezmar-related work amounted to just five hours over the six years it said Obama was affiliated with the law firm, the staff said in an e-mail in February.”

———

The “5 hour” number is a legal obfuscation by the Obama campaign meant to confuse his real involvement as a lawyer in multiple Rezko Slum-tenement land deals.

There is probably one specific deal that occurred were Obama billed Rezko for only 5 hours of work. So when asked how much work Obama did for Rezko, the Obama campaigns changes the question from how much work did you do EVER, and instead answers how much work they did on ONE SPECIFIC DEAL.

In the case I referenced earlier from 1994, Obama represented Woodlawn, who was a partner with Rezko in this deal. Woodlawn was supposedly a non-profit organization that teamed up with the For Profit Rezko to build/rehab/manage these slum tenements.

For all intents and purposes Woodlawn and Rezko are one in the same. But to push these corrupt land deals through a person like Rezko needs to create the ILLUSION of Public Service by partnering with a shell organization like Woodlawn.

And In order to create the ILLUSION OF PUBLIC SERVICE Obama decides that it will be Woodlawn, and not Rezko, who fights the tenants and the city in Court. And, obviously, it is the better legal strategy to claim that your enterprise in NON-PROFIT, for the public good, etc.

But Rezko and Obama knew what they were doing. And they knew that when it came time to fight for Rezko’s Personal interests against the people he was letting freeze, it was better to show the face of the NON-PROFIT in court.

The entire point of bringing in a “non-profit” like woodlawn is to HIDE who is really responsible.

Obama is trying to hide behind Woodlawn. How much work did he do for Woodlawn(subsitute:Rezko)?

.. so why hasn't Obama turned over his State legislative records? hmm?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oompa-Loompa

'In fiction, the Oompa-Loompas were first featured in Roald Dahl's 1964 children's book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The original book first portrayed Oompa-Loompas as black pygmies from "the very deepest and darkest part of the African jungle where no white man had been before". After the book's U.S. release, complaints of racism caused Dahl to rewrite the characters as dwarves with "golden-brown hair" and "rosy-white" skin.'

70. What a disgusting, grotesque distortion. Yellow journalism at its worst.
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 04:09 AM by Seabiscuit
Clinton had absolutlely nothing to do with the photo of Barack in Africa wearing native garb. And neither she nor any of her campaign people ever said "Barack dresses like a Muslim". Talk about a bold faced lie.

Barack DID steal lines from Deval Patrick, without attribution. That's the truth, and he's admitted it. There's nothing "negative" about that, beyond Barack's own bad behavior. Talk about warped projection.

Her 3 a.m. ad did NOT say "Barack's not the guy you want answering the phone in the White House". It simply promoted her and didn't mention anyone else either by name or by implication. It was almost a takeoff on Ghostbusters: "Who ya gonna call"? It was almost humorous. Talk about paranoia.

And Hillary didn't slam Barack for "negative mailings". She slammed him for the pack of disgusting lies about her health care plan contained in his mailings, which he has continued to use long after being exposed as lies, a practice which IS positively Rovian. Talk about dirty politicking.

I haven't heard of the Ann Richards thing, but in view of the above, that quote is undoubtedly a pathetic distortion as well.
