I seem to remember another candidate trying to bully his opponent into bowing out prematurely.

I seem to remember another candidate acting as though he had already won and pushing that fable to an accommodating media.

I seem to remember another candidate changing the story every time his circumstances changed – sometimes it was about democracy and the will of the people, sometimes it was about the rule of law… whatever.


I can't quite remember who it was but I think it was, like, eight years ago or something.
