Hillary has gotten so much Lee-way from the press
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 01:07 AM by Levgreee
She has said that McCain will bring more to the white house than Obama.
She has said that Obama is not at all suited to be Commander in Chief.
She has insinuated that terrorists may strike if Obama is elected.
Her "Shame on you" tirade. Saying enough with Obama's speeches and rallies.
Being unable to state, as a fact, that Obama is Christian and not Muslim.
Saying Obama is only running on a speech from 2002, when he has more legislative experience than her.
Putting out a fake news report on Obama.
Claiming Obama wants a trillion dollar tax hike on the middle class. (flyer, NH, Nevada)

Imagine any of these flipped, Obama saying them about Hillary instead.

McCain brings more to the White House than Clinton. Clinton is unsuited to be Commander in Chief.
Terrorists may attack, if Hillary is elected.
Saying "Shame on you" and calling out Hillary, telling her, enough with her rallies and speeches.
Being unable to say, "Yes, Hillary is a Christian."
Saying that Hillary is only running on being First Lady in the White House.

I could add more, but she gets by with so much it's silly. I don't know if people just expect it from her, or are afraid of being chastised by the Clinton campaign. But I just don't understand why people think the Media is so hard on her. They could have driven her into the ground on any of these things.
As it is, they let her get away with straight out lies, which in the meantime have been key in keeping her in the race.

Now, Obama is still going to win, so I'm no longer really irked by these. But she has got away with A LOT.

5. Oh please.
They spent/spend more time on Michelle and her "for the first time..." than on John McCain and his lobbyist shenanegans.

Handshakegate was a three-day affair.

Get real.

6. Just do a thought experiment... imagine Obama doing any of these things. How would the press react?
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 01:13 AM by Levgreee
Obama has more positive things because HE IS A POSITIVE CANDIDATE. If you look at positive comments, sure, he gets more.

But Hillary still gets away with minimal heat, even with these things going on that Obama would be attacked for incessantly.

Her getting away with negative press, outweighs the positive attention Obama gets. And the negative stuff she gets away with, in the meantime, garners her votes.

9. For Christs sake you can't be serious
last week was the only time Obama has gotten any press scrutiny whatever. The press has totally ignored the outright racism in his Church and his relationship with Risko.

They ran it dry, and moved on, because they would've just gone over the same details again and again.

11. Give me a break the deal on his home stinks to
high heaven. Look at all the BS the Clintons went through over a botched land deal in Arkansas where they actually lost money. And what about the admitted drug use? I have seen people on DU call Bush a coke head for the last 7 years on an unproved allegation, talk about a double standard. I'm sure none of these things will be lost with the Republican's attack machine this fall.

3. Clinton has been given a free pass on her experience.
The media has never questioned her experience. That will change in the coming weeks.

13. Leeway
Exactly right. The myth of the press favoring Obama is just that. Why would they? The last thing their coporate masters want is someone in the White House who might actually change anything. Hillary is in their pockets. And if she loses, so much the better; then they have McCain!
