Brokered convention, in comes President Gore, who takes Barack Obama as his running mate.

Talk about giving this country HOPE!

6. Gore/Obama
That is the true "dream ticket". The problem, though, is that the republicans are already floating the idea that McCain may run with the governor of Florida Charlie Crist. Of course - they have to lock up Florida somehow so they can control the election again. I doubt Gore is up for another replay of 2000.

7. Fine idea as long as neither Clinton nor Obama are on the ticket.

Having either on the ticket would defeat Gore's efforts to unite the party.

8. he will stay out of it
I already have visions of dinner conversation between him and tipper where he says, i knew she would be dirty like this and thats why i didn't want to put you through it.

I was real upset when i realized he wasn't going to run but now i have accepted it. He sees the hope we all have for obama with the youth, he loves the youth himself, i think he is happy about it if obama will listen to him on the environment and i just think he might. i think obama is being a bit careful now to keep his new republican voters and independents but i have a feeling he will go more green than people think.

10. I held out for Al for a long time, but he's not getting in unless
something cataclysmic happened to both candidates. I could see him facilitating negotiations if a winner is in dispute, but I doo not see Al running.... as much as I love him.

ONLY GORE CAN STOP A MELTDOWN

March 6, 2008 -- IF AL GORE can pull himself away from saving the planet long enough, he might want to consider rescuing the Democratic Party from the clutches of utter self-destruction.

Campaigning against an unpopular war in Iraq, a sputtering economy and a disappearing dollar, Democrats cannot lose in November.

But wait! They're Democrats!

"The only reason we ever lose is when we beat ourselves," one nervous Democrat grumbled yesterday as the primary dogfight dragged on.

Hillary Rodham Clinton has made it clear she won't quit and no one expects Barack Obama to exit - and so on to the Denver party convention they go, viciously attacking one another all the way.

Forget the red phone for a national-security crisis. Where is the red phone for a political party trying to destroy itself?

And where is the party leader with the respect, stature, wisdom and influence to answer the crisis phone?

...

12. absolutely not. from someone still pining for al-
this would send the new party members that obama is bringing in packing. i love al. i really wanted him to run. but he didn't. you can't just hand it to him in a smoke filled room.
now, an obama/gore ticket-now we're talking.
i do think that he is being asked to tell hill to go home when party leaders think it is time. he's the only one i can think of that she would give 10 seconds.
