So now Hillary supporters are against Keith Olbermann?
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 09:10 PM by lynyrd_skynyrd
That's it. You've confirmed once and for all, without a doubt, that you people cannot be reasoned with in any rational manner whatsoever.

Keith Olbermann. Just....Wow.

It would be nice if some Clinton supporters replied here that they are not among those who are so completely delusional that they would think Keith Olbermann, of all people, is the enemy.

You know, I hear Limbaugh is a Hillary Clinton supporter. Is it not too far off that we see pro Rush Limbaugh threads appear in this sewer formerly known as General Discussion: Politics?

1. When he makes baseless charges against her, yes
that coupled with his weird attitude about women he discusses on his show.

I like him sometimes, but he's a bit bombastic. He jumped the shark on this one AFAIC.

41. Exactly. It's like when conservatives complain that Media Matters smears them...
Media Matters just gives you transcripts, audio and video of what various people say. If anything, these people are "smearing" themselves.

She is hurting Obama and more importantly for Hillary supporters, she's ultimately hurting herself by making an argument that benefits McCain in the short *and* long run for the general election. I understand her supporters are defensive (as we all are WRT our candidate of choice), but at some point you have to step back and really look hard at this situation.

These latest tactics are questionable ethically AND politically, for both Dem candidates and for the Democratic party in general.

69. Olbermann DISTORTED Fairytale Gate
He kept ranting about Clinton on Fairytale without clarifying exactly
what this was.

Finally, Dan Abrams played the Clinton comment in entirety.
It turned out to be NOTHING. There was absolutely nothing.

Keith was just beating up on her and faking a big scandel.

I lost respect for him immediately. I resent being hoodwinked.
He is just playing to Daily Kos readers, the few who are left.
Most of the comments come from sock puppets.

I can't tell whether you're trying to diminish the site somehow by stating an utter falsehood, or whether there was some sort of Hillary rebellion there that I missed.

Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 11:36 PM by Tarheel_Dem
There's an article somewhere around here that shows the ties between the McCain & Clinton campaigns, and it's really scary. I wish her supporters could be objective about this. The key players in those two campaigns are the same slimy people we've decried on this board for the past seven years. I really do believe that Nader has a valid argument this time, because except for the abortion issue, there's not a lick of difference between Clinton & McCain. Hell, they even have the same big money donors.

I found it:

A Few Degrees of Separation From Hillary Clinton's Top Adviser

By Jeffrey H. Birnbaum
Tuesday, February 20, 2007; Page A11

"Mark J. Penn is a man who wears many hats: high-paid political and corporate pollster, chief executive of an international communications and lobbying company, and chief strategist to New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Enough connections for you?

Well, there are more. Penn's firm, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide -- with 2,000 employees and $300 million a year in revenue -- owns BKSH & Associates, the major lobbying firm chaired by Charles R. Black Jr. That's right, Black, counselor to Republican presidents, reports to Clinton's top strategist.

The connections get even more entangled. Burson-Marsteller is a subsidiary of WPP Group, a London-based advertising and PR giant that owns many of the biggest names on K Street. These include Quinn Gillespie & Associates, Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates, Timmons & Co., Ogilvy Government Relations Worldwide (formerly the Federalist Group), Public Strategies Inc., Dewey Square Group and Hill & Knowlton.

To be more precise, Penn's parent company employs as lobbyists and advisers an ex-chairman of the Republican National Committee (Edward W. Gillespie), a former House GOP leader (Robert S. Walker), a top GOP fundraiser (Wayne L. Berman), and the former media adviser to President Bush (Mark McKinnon)."

56. We Can All Assume That Keith Will Vote For Obama, He Should Just Endorse Him Then
Or can he do that? Are journalists allowed? I'm just asking because I don't know. If he can be one-sided in his coverage of Clinton/Obama, why not just endorse? I'm a Hillary supporter, and I wouldn't have a problem with that.
By "hinting" at support, and not endorsing, he can get More Hillary supporters (like me) to watch. Maybe that's the idea.
Whatever.

58. I stopped listening to Keith long before the dustup between Hillary and Barack.
The hyperbole and the overly dramatic presentation of his "Special Comments" was over the top. Keith became a parody of himself.

Let me add, whenever you address a group of individuals as "you people," you really lower the tone of the debate you seek.

61. I'm still a Keith fan & watch every night but he has been very unfair to her.
I will like him a lot better once this election is over.

62. The Obama supporters have thrown Joseph Wilson, Edwards, etc. under the bus.
It's a huge list....

68. Reality has a definite Obama bias.
No matter what the Hillary acolytes pray for, fantasize, or dream about,

Obama WILL go to the Convention with a sizable MAJORITY of Pledged Delegates.

Nothing posted on DU will change that.

73. You don't read many threads closely, do you?
We, Hillary supporters, have ignored Olbermann and his guests from Newsweek since they did not even bothered to show their bias against her from the very first debate.

77. Other than Dan Abrams, every other pundit at MSNBC is disgusting
as far as I'm concerned. I hear more objectivity from Fox than from them. I stopped watching that crappy network a while ago.

One worse than the other: Tweety, Carlson, Scarborough, Shuster and now Olberman.

And I'm not Hillary supporter, either. Far from it.

85. Olberman has taken the "I hate the Clinton family" baton from the Republicans
Why would any democrat support that?
