The real power lies outside the US Gov't and nothing O/H or the Congress do

can change it. It will take decades to regain our independence (financial and otherwise) and capability (to produce, defend, etc.) from the corporations and countries it has been sold to.

And, anyone who thinks either O or H can do much to change the damage done is kidding themselves.

The reason we have to rely on Telecoms (grant them immunity) -- the gov't has outsource everything to the point that we have no independent capabilities. We rely on corporations and other countries for our economy, defense, etc. Americans have year after year answered the call to be more productive and smarter, while at the same time giving up services, compensation, benefits, etc. ... and, for what? So, the politicians and wealthy could continue to conspire and sell out our country to multi-national corporations and a few uber-wealthy individuals.

It began with Nixon, accelerated under Reagan to a degree, but really took off with the Revolting Republicans of 1994 ... Bush grabbed onto their coat tails and sunk our country deeper into the abyss economically, politically, and with regard to our independence.

It will take someone more Progressive and Intelligent than either O or H, at least a few decades and a few miracles, to save us from the mess we're in.

1. Absolutely correct -- but we CAN do things to control its impact inside the country
The globalists have had a free ride here for years. It's time to stop the bleeding.

will be able to reverse the current trends, if ever.

I study and analyze the data bi-annually. I actually am such a nerd about it that I download detailed budget spreadsheets and data, global and US economic data/reports, etc.

And, ironically, the GOP, who professed their patriotism most boldly, were the ones who actually may have initiated our country's demise by allowing us to become so dependent economically and otherwise to nations who were chomping at the bit to bring us down.

3. That's always how enemies attack -- from within and in disguise
The entire Bush family and its ilk have always been enemy #1 of the American people.

But we can do our best to keep the strongest people on hand to fight for our own people, while they take care
of the RWE.
