When Joe Lieberman left the party and became an.. cough cough "independent" I was furious, as were all of us on here.
When Joe Lieberman endorsed McCain and started actually campaigning for him, once again we were all outraged. How could a fellow "democrat" do that to his own party.
What I see in Hillary Clinton now, what I watch her do every day reminds me so much of what Lieberman did.
So, it makes me wonder... Is she really trying to have it both ways? Fine, if you don't want to call it "endorsing" McCain, I can live with that. But you cannot deny the FACT that she has been awfully kind in her references to him lately. And at the same time, in the same breath she slams Obama.
That is not what democrats do. At least none I have ever seen. As a presidential nominee, you do NOT "endorse" your opponent in another party over your competition in your own party.
And the reason this really boggles me, is why she would make these comparisons between her and McCain. It doesn't make any sense, and doesn't help her case.
If it comes down to experience, McCain beats her. He simply has more than she does. Plus, they voted the same way on a lot of key issues; especially the ones pertaining to "national security."
IWR, Kyl-Lieberman, Levin Amendment...
She is giving McCain everything he needs to beat her in a general election. She doesn't want to show us her tax returns now because compared to Obama, they look horrible, but compared to McCain... you could basically flip them and not know the difference.
The other thing that gives me concern is the FACT that both Clinton and McCain have the SAME company running their campaigns. I don't get that. Why on earth would you go with the same company as your competition? Doesn't that seem odd to any of you?
If you listen to the rhetoric coming from both camps you will notice they sound eerily alike. I don't like that. Something is wrong there.
Before you say "Republicans Hate Hillary," just think about it. Would they hate her if she became one of them? I don't think so.
We have seen this, what Hillary is doing, before, and not too long ago. We all thought Lieberman was vying for McCain's VP. Is it such a stretch to think that Hillary doesn't have a backup plan? I don't think it is. And it scares the hell out of me.
I honestly hope I am wrong here, but I don't think I am. Only time will tell. Just remeber, I said it first.
**edit: I forgot the most important reason: McCain will only be a 1 term president... Setting her up as the front runner in '12.
