i wonder how Howard Dean is feeling
he is mostly calm on tv, but i know he isn't saying everything he would like to since he is DNC Chairman. i would really like to know everything that happened between him and others on the Flordia and Michigan delegate issue.

today i saw some congressperson from Michigan blaming him for the delegate problems.

1. Pah, Michigan and Florida Dem hacks were the rule-breakers, not Dean.
Screw them.

And I thought, "Why doesn't he take his spray on tan and shove it up his ass?"

11. all that "the voters must have their say" bullshit coming from him...
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 02:44 AM by CitizenLeft
...made me want to puke. Crist has ZERO interest in Democrats getting their "say." What he's interested in is seeing Obama and Hillary picnicking on each other for another 4 months - with Democrats spending $20 million dollars in EACH state - while he and McCain sit back and laugh their asses off.

standpoint. Bill Nelson is a piece of work also.

4. Why Bother Having Any Rules
if those that break them suffer no consequences? All Democrats should be defending Dean.

5. Yup, all real Dems that is...but apparently we have a stray McCain lover
masquerading as a Dem, trying to break our party rules.

Thank goodness Hillary has been exposed.

6. I think the DNC went too crazy with stripping
Florida and Michigan of all their delegates. It was too severe. They could have cut the delegates in half, maybe. But to disenfranchise all those voters? It was a major mistake because it was not the fault of the voters that their states moved the primaries up.

7. The voters should be mad at their state party leaders, not Dean.
And this should be a lesson to everyone...if you agree to the rules you play by the rules.

8. But the voters had no say in it, as far as I know. It isn't
right to make their primaries completely invalid. The people of those states did nothing wrong and shouldn't be disenfranchised, IMO. I do believe there had to be a penalty for moving the primaries up against the DNC's rules. Like I said, maybe cutting the delegates in half would have been reasonable and wouldn't have been such a severe punishment on innocent voters in those states.

12. I think taxpayers of those states
would have to pay for another vote. That doesn't seem fair since they did nothing wrong.

13. correct
and making the party pay would divert upwards of 50 million dollars that could be used to fight McCain.

Might I humbly request that you add 'sarcastically' to that siggie so it can't be read wrongly that I really meant that line? I know it should be obvious but one poor reader actually PM'd me out of nowhere saying if I loved the idea of a draft so much I should go to the nearest recruiting centre etc.

35. They played chicken with Howard Dean--not a good idea.
I think they never thought he'd bring the hammer down. Big mistake.

Of course the ones who get shafted are the ordinary voters in both states.

The state parties should foot the bill for a revote--or maybe the Obama and Clinton campaigns--both of which are rolling in the dough should kick in to help pay for a do over.

If those states acted in defiance of Dean's fair advance notice, they should pay for any re-vote.

38. That's actually a good idea...
A 3-way split..the state, Obama, and Hillary would bring the 18 million down to 6 mil a piece. Seems worth the investment to me. That's how much they estimated it would cost in Florida anyway. I'm not sure how Michigan compares.
