Interesting conversation with republican coworker
Was very enlightening--we basically talked Texas politics for 12 hours.
She is not a rabid republican...but she is an old-school republican.

What I found most interesting of the conversation.
She equates McCain to Gerald Ford---same milquetoast-type of politician.
She would have thought seriously about voting for John Edwards, however, she (and she says her entire family) will vote for McCain come November.
We talked about the convoluted mess re:the caucuses. We talked in depth about the Democratic candidates.
She even talked about the few differences in the platforms of Clinton and Obama (she did educate herself about ALL of the candidates).
Very little of what she said was surprising.
It was a pleasant conversation.
But, the shocker of what she said put something that I have felt for a long-time into words.
We were talking about Al Gore and the fact that I wished he would have run.
She said she would vote for him in a heartbeat.
She said she thought he was a lousy politician...but in her estimation he changed from a politician to a public servant...and that impressed her.
Truer words were never spoken.

1. Gore would be a good candidate
and I wish he would be chosen by the convention, especially if Obama and Clinton keep on with their take no prisoners attacks on one another.

4. Even my republican friends now realize how bad Bush has been for the country, and
I think it's the fuel prices that did the trick. Everytime the word "inexperienced" comes up I throw bush right back in their faces, and they shut up.
