Latest poll numbers show McCain beating Obama, but not Hillary!
Rasmussen Reports - Rolling Presidential Match-up Poll - March 7th

McCain 46 - Obama 45

McCain 46 - Clinton 46

Just in case there is anyone around here who still believes that "only Obama can beat McCain" ... :eyes:

1. SurveyUSA shows Obama beating McCain by more than Hillary
Other polls do too. Some other polls also show both candidates losing to McCain and some show Clinton beating McCain.

3. Yes, but Rasmussen updates their numbers every single day
So they are not based on data that was collected 5 days before.

13. Yes, and that is why Rasmussen is often wrong. A good pollster will tell you that it takes ....
several days to put together a reliable poll.

This is why companies like Pew research do so well.

16. But that's the whole point of a rolling poll
Usually they don't just publish the numbers for 1 day only.

Each day they use the numbers from the 3 most recent days and add them together.

So you don't see major shifts from one day to the next.

26. Yes, but the data is not analyzed for anomalies. Releasing data without scrutinizing it makes ....
for bad results.

2. Good news for both Democrats
They had both been trailing McCain in recent days.

One point difference is statistically insignificant...they are both essentially tied with McCain. Given where we were last week, that is good news.

At least - that's what Obama supporters are always saying about the delegate count! ;-)

this poll is well within the margin of error and therefore is not statistically significant

Even if this has nothing to do with your point about "margin of error" ...

18. I'm glad you realize that polls and elections are not the same thing.
That poll shows both of them in a statistical tie against McCain. That's worrisome regardless of who you support. Any Dem should be double digits ahead of John McInsane. Period.

21. No. Because 3 weeks back, McCain was beating Hillary by 8 points.
Today they are neck and neck. I call that a positive trend! B-)

10. but...
her argument about experience might sound cute to the not so wise, but once she goes up against white-haired mccain, that strategy will be completely useless. she voted for iraq war, too so... shed be forced to focus on domestic issues in a time of war. yep... sounds like shes gonna be the winner!

lol

17. Your point is that nobody trusts a Clinton on the economy, stupid?
At least the first Clinton administration kept the budget deficit in check.

I cannot vote for the two people, clinton or mccain, who according to clinton are more qalifified to be president then Obama

31. That is actually a terrific question. I don't think so, because that would mean
to me neither candidate stands on their principles

To me what Hillary said was that she and mccain have the experience to be president, but Obama doesn't, and that is what did it for me. If she could take back that, I would probably reconsider, but it isn't going to happen, because she has subsequently continued to bring it up.

Hey, I'm not voting republican, so most likely I suspect she will do quite nicely without my support

better approval rating than just about any other poll.

Second, only an idiot would take this poll as showing what you said. The two polls show them tied, if we can even believe polls that much ahead.
