Your Candidate Is Not a Deity!
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 02:12 PM by NeedleCast
Some of you need to go take a warm bubble bath or something. Listen to some Enya. Have a little nap. Something.

Some of you have elevated your candidate to the point of Godhood (or, so I don't get called a sexist, Godesshood). We did this same shit to Nancy Pelosi and when it turned out that she indeed didn't have a magic wand that would make the Bush administration disappear in a cloud of brimstone it didn't take some DU'ers long to turn on her. When you put people on a pedestal, you are setting them up for failure. Some of you need to recognize this quick, fast and in a hurry because neither Clinton nor Obama have magic wands either. I understand strongly supporting your choice in this primary but when you nuts because some random staffer on the opposing staff calls your candidate a name or because they used your candidate's middle name, welllllll, that's just about the time to take your hands off the keyboard, go have a little snack, step outside a minute and get some perspective.

Otherwise you're going to be in for a lot of disappointment.

1. With reguards to Pelosi.....most of us did not expect the Bush administration to "disappear in a...
cloud of brimstone."

But we did expect our leaders to show some courage and not cave to Bush every time he huffed and puffed about not getting his way.

5. Maybe not Most
but more than a few did.

Not trying to make this about Pelosi. Just pointing out that when we become to attached to our particular candidate we're setting ourselves up for a fall because they are inevitably not going to be perfect.

14. Well said. I fully expect the next President to be either Obama
or Hillary, and I also fully expect that the new President is going to be faced with the worst set of problems since FDR was elected. Those who expect miracles will not get them. I hope they won't feel cheated.

8. We Don't Expect Them To Be Gods But We Do
expect them to do their job and represent us. We don't turn on them; we do hold them accountable. You should quit making excuses for those who don't do their jobs.

10. I'm not making excuse but have you visited this forum recently?
Many here have been acting like their candidate does no wrong while their opponent is the root of all evil.

11. I've Seen More Of People Angry Because Their Candidate
has been smeared by people posting outright lies about a candidate.

13. That's pretty much my point
"Supporters" on both sides aren't bothering to do any fact checking. Right now they're out there searching the interwebs for smears about the other candidate so they can run back here and post them, please believe. It's all your candidate did this and your candidate did that while my candidate farts rainbows and kittens. Today's big ticket newsmaker? Some random Obama staffer called Hillary a monster. Big Fucking Deal. However, the outrage on both sides over this non-even and the desire of both sides to protect their hero (or heroine) has been off the charts.

9. Somebody should tell the "Gods" that they are running to be public servants.
At least in theory. A hard sell to egomaniacal politicians.

16. Wait a minute - are you telling me Zod has withdrawn from the race?
This is unacceptable. Who is this "NeedleCast" to deny Zod his rightful deified place?

Because we switch to Daylight Saving Time, Zod generously grants you an extra hour to kneel before him this weekend.

Use the time wisely.
