Why Obamanauts Fear the Dream Ticket:
...along with freepers...

1. Because as the DU polls show, many if not most Obama supporters are simply anti-Hillary. It doesn't take a genius to find out why Rethugs hate the idea... it means that both camps will vote Democratic since their candidate is on the ticket. Clinton will net more supporters for president if Obama supporters realize he could win in 2016. Obama supporters that like both candidates will be turned off by the hate messages directed toward Hillary screaming "No dream ticket, No hope there! I DONT HAVE A DREAM!" If Obama declines the idea, he will look like the bad guy, moderates will leave his camp.

2. Because they like the idea that the primaries will destroy the party. If the primaries were being held to determine who was pres and who was vice pres, you'd be hating on your own ticket.

3. Because they know damn well that Hillary will be on top. When it's one or the other, you can simply ignore the 35 year resume that dwarfs the neophytes pamphlet of accomplishments.

4. Because Obama will look stupid, having gotten more votes than Hillary so far. Hey, some of us think he already looks pretty stupid! Maybe they called Hillary inevitable, but come on Obama actually HAS a TANGIBLE advantage and STILL can't close the deal!

If she proposes the dream ticket, she can win the presidency. It is a tactical move.

9. Obama supporters don't like the dream ticket because there's no reason to support it now.
Obama is in the lead. Why would he bother considering being someone else's VP when he is more likely to be the President?

McAuliffe talking about the possibility of Obama being VP is only a way to make Obama look like second fiddle before the primaries are over.

Any talk of the dream ticket is premature. Moreover, I think that most of the talk about supporters not voting for the other candidate won't really materialize once the nomination is decided. I think that it's mostly a DU thing.

11. She can "propose" it all she wants..... Obama will reject it...
....and his 6 million NEW voters will stay home in November.... and the 90-10 advantage that Dems had over Republicans among AAs will be gone.

She'll single-handedly re-align the party to where it was prior to the civil rights act of 1964.

The AAs in this country will move away from a Dem party that stole Obama's nomination away in a backroom deal.

There's no mathematical way Hillary can get the nomination without the SDs overturning the verdict of the pledged delegates.

That may be "in the rules"... but it will kill any chance she has of winning in November.

If Clinton can manage to strongarm her way to the nomination despite losing in pledged delegates, she will need Obama on the ticket to appease his supporters. I am not completely opposed to the idea, but in that scenario, he better make her beg, and make her promise not to run again in 4 years if they lose.

They'd get votes from people on the fence by dangling the joint ticket and then once she gets the nom, it will be "too risky" to have a black man on the ticket with her so the spot will go to one of her buds like Evan Bayh.

39. I think the winner of the most delegates should be pres and 2nd should be VP.
That would send a clear message to republicans: Yes, the fight continues, and No, it doesn't benefit McCain. Either way, a Dream ticket is bad news for the right.

But now? I wouldn't vote for her for dog catcher let alone have that lying, conniving, manipulative weasel as my vice president.

75. I am so impressed with your cleverness
As eager to try to manipulate as your queen.

I was serious. I would have voted for Hillary even for President until about 2 weeks ago. I am not an "Obamabot". My candidate was John Edwards and I considered both Obama and Clinton to be too corporate for me. I chose Obama as the lesser of the two evils when Edwards dropped out and have since gotten to like him a whole lot more than I thought I would. It was close though, and I could have voted for either Obama or Hillary for President. In fact, on Super Tuesday I didn't make up my mind until I got into the voting booth.

But Hillary changed all of that in the past 2 weeks. It isn't me. I am not a Hillary hater. I just hate what she is doing to our party.

54. Wrong, there's plenty of better VP picks for Obama then HRC, HRC as his VP would sink him
The fact of the matter is HRC anywhere on the top of a ticket will sink a lot of Obama's cross over appeal. Obama needs someone who just about everyone will agree is strong on terrorism and experienced in fighting it or wars in order to counter the inexperienced label. Hillary Clinton cannot fix those weaknesses Obama has by being his VP, and she would bring Obama even more weaknesses in the process.

Obama as a VP would likely kill some of his independent support because of simply being associated so closely to Hillary, but he offers the ability to do things like raise a ton of cash even better then Hillary can, so Obama as a vice president pick for Hillary somewhat makes sense.

I mean, let's cut to the chase, here- the truth to the die-hard Clinton crowd is, no one should have even RUN against Hillary. She had the nomination before anyone cast a single vote, right? We were all supposed to jump on board that inevitability train the second Terry McAuliffe said the word boo. It's HERS, DAMMIT! It's HER TURN!

She's... entitled entitled entitled!

120. Yes. Actually, I think it having them both on the ticket makes sense no matter who get the top slot.
If you're looking for some caricature of a "Clinton-hating Obamite", look elsewhere. I wanted Al Gore to run. Then I supported Chris Dodd. I like Hillary Clinton, but I think Obama has the potential to be a truly transformative political figure and HRC only promises more of the same. I liked Hillary a lot more in 1992, it's true- I think since she's come to the Senate her pandering has been particularly egregious, and her unwillingness to cop to the IWR vote being a mistake is a major stumbling point for me (and many).

But I would be perfectly fine with an Obama/Clinton ticket. And if she's the nominee, I'll vote for her.

If Hillary Clinton thinks that Barack Obama is so woefully unqualified to be Commander in Chief then why on Earth would she take the dangerous, dangerous risk to American security of making him her Veep? 132. Don't let your opponent frame the debate: IT'S NO DREAM TICKET!
It emphasizes their problems in the general election rather than adding strength to strength. Let Obama choose a seasoned foreign-policy expert to give us the strongest ticket posible, not the most unelectable.

Obama-(the right choice) can win in November.

Obama-Clinton (and certainly Clinton-Obama) will doom us to four more Republican years.
