Has Hillary Apologized For this Comment Yet? This Comment which is the Most Awful comment so far?

http://blog.brendanloy.com/2008/02/clinton-introdu.html

"The Barack Show is playing to rave reviews, sold out on college campus after college campus, standing-room-only crowds to hear his silver-tongued oration. Hope! Change! Yes, we can! Give me a break! I've got news for all the latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, trust-fund babies crowding in to hear him speak! This guy won't last a round against the Republican attack machine!"

Let me Be Clear, This was Not Said by Hillary, but by Her supporter Tom Buffenbarger introducing her at an event earlier in the cycle.

Then he said this about Obama...

Buffenbarger derisively dismissed Obama as a mere "wunderkind," a "man in love with the microphone," and "a poet, not a fighter." He repeatedly and pointedly called him "the junior senator from Illinois" (as if Hillary isn't the junior senator from New York?). He compared Obama to "Janus, the two-faced Roman god of ancient times."

The words above were so far out of line. Its one thing to go after Obama himself, but its another thing to attack his supporters that way. And I could be wrong, but I have yet to hear an apology from Senator Clinton. Instead I saw this jerkoff continue to put out statements on her behalf. If I'm not mistaken, in response she said she was glad to have his support.

Senator Clinton, if you want my support, you should think about distancing yourself from this Fucking Moran. Cuz if not, you would be Janus the two faced Roman God, not Obama.

Classy move from your supporters, Senator Clinton. Would you like some more matches to burn some more bridges?

EDIT: I just saw it was one of her supporters. Oops. Still terrible.

29. Oh please - Obama started the Democratic party destruction.
Following is a partial list of groups he has pissed off with his deliberate cynical and sinister campaign strategy:

Early and pre Boomers
GLBT community
women
working people

About 3/4 of the party. The only people who don't know that a party split happened months ago are some of the Obama supporters and the msm.

It's disgusting, and just boggles the mind. Those are ALL Limbaugh-esque comments, and here they are from the mouths of our alleged comrades.

Un. Fucking. Believable.

19. They're not a significant chunk
The rich college elite "vote" is barely that. I don't even know if the "arrogant hipster" crowd could even be bothered to vote for either candidate in November. They might be in some marijuana haze by then or too busy getting some obnoxious tattoo...

A significant chunk would be the working class, soccer moms etc.

22. Well, "newfie," you're wrong about that.
If you think Obama's base is limited to "elite" voters, you're woefully uninformed.

And there is no excuse, EVER, for attacking one's fellow party members in such a manner. The "latte-sipping liberal" BS is straight from the lips of Limbaugh. Fuck anybody in our party who chooses to use that smear.

Because that's what it is: a nasty-assed smear.

And you add the rightwing's favorite cliche about pot smokers....sounds like you've been hanging out with the wrong people a little too long.

33. Attacks against the candidate & attacks on segments of the democratic base are totally different
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 03:54 PM by Shakespeare
The egregiousness of attacks against each candidate are already being discussed elsewhere, and have absolutely nothing to do with a discussion about a segment of the voting base who are being smeared.

If you're truly ignorant of the difference between public figure v. private citizen, please go educate yourself.

It pretty much sums up the Obama supporters. Latte sipping, thick rimmed glasses wearing, Soho living trust fund hipster!

not all of them of course, I'm not being serious. But it's funny watching these coddled rich liberal arts majors flock to obama like he's some sort of deity.

It was a gentle stab, that's all. LIGHTEN UP!

I think she's right, the GOP attack machine will be too much to overcome. Only the Clintons have come out alive!

18. Sorry - but those words do describe the Starbucks college town crowd that has been Obama's
vote source - along with 90/10 AA voting post Obama playing the race card.

As to not being a fighter Obama advisers are saying the same thing - the recently resigned Powers telling folks that getting out of Iraq is just a best case campaign speech and that Obama would revisit the issue to do what was reasonable at that time.

The the Economics adviser Austan Goolsbee telling Canada that Obama was about to lie about NAFTA so not to worry = and Obama's other adviser saying that Kudlow should not worry about the budget impact of Obama social programs because Obama does not expect them to pass -

all that does not make one think Obama is a fighter.

Seems the intro nailed the truth.

26. That "Starbucks college town crowd" was one of Kerry's best demographics in 2004, as were AA's
The 18-29 age bracket was the only one to go for Kerry in 2004. He broke even with Bush among people with a college degree and trounced him among those with a post-grad degree. And he won 88% of the black vote.

With the exception of Latinos, all of the so-called "core Democratic groups" that Clinton is winning, like working-class whites, seniors, white women, and Catholics actually voted for Bush.

34. Thanks for posting the link to that speech! Fine statements from a Democrat!
While I don't quite agree with his praise of Sen. Clinton or his belief that she might act any differently, I think all Democrats should be listening to what he stated about the backstabbing that occurred over the Maytag deal, with the double-dealing by Sen. Obama with the Crown family, and the ultimate lack of support that has been shown when it comes down to fighting for the hard working people of this nation.

You may not be familiar with the fire that roars within any union, when it comes to fighting against the attacks on the working class. The selling-out and blatant assaults on our livelihoods that have been accomplished by both political parties have been business-as-usual for many many years and the party that once stood, undisputed, as the party of workers, has caved and toadied once too often in the interests of big-money, big-business, capitalist profits. I think the criticisms this union man spoke of should be listened to and heard by the leaders of our Democratic Party and I only wish that both of our candidates would honestly take what he's said to heart. It was refreshing to hear a rank and file Democrat speak the truth to power!
