Job Losses Worst in 5 years
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 03:28 PM by OzarkDem
"There was a net loss of 63,000 jobs, which is the biggest decline since March 2003 and weaker than the revised 22,000 jobs lost in January. Economists had forecast a gain of 25,000 jobs.

...

Job losses were widespread, reaching beyond the battered construction sector, which lost 39,000, and manufacturing, where job losses hit 52,000.

This is what voters are worried about. They don't care about phony scandals or whether someone was president of their college law review.

They want to choose a president who they can trust and who has experience to guide the economy out of the growing storm. They want someone who knows what to do so they can keep their jobs and their houses. That's really all they care about.

As the economy worsens, Obama will have a growing uphill battle to convince voters to support him, simply because he's an unknown quantity, an inexperienced candidate.

All the name calling and scandalmongering against Clinton won't make them trust Obama anymore. Voters don't want to hear the catfights when their futures are on the line.

2. Hillary Clinton didn't pass NAFTA, Bush 1 and the GOP did and yes, they could care less
about what treaties Bush 1 agreed to in the 19080's. You were still crapping your diaper when NAFTA and GATT were negotiated by Poppy, so go sell your spin somewhere else.

By all means, please keep up your silly nattering and spinning of facts. Obama isn't making the cut when voters worry about electing someone to fix the economy. They know who took care of turning the economy around in the 1990's and that's all that matters.

No Executive Office OTJ training during major recessions, k?

3. NAFTA would not have passed without the push by BILL Clinton. Get your facts straight

4. Edwards' campaign manager David Bonior
Dave Bonior was house majority whip when Clinton put forth the NAFTA agreement that Bush had drawn up. It passed without Bonior's help.

Bonior fought it. I guess Clinton didn't like him for it because the DLC ended up supporting Granholm when she ran for governor rather than supporting Bonior, who also ran.

I was new to the state when all this went under...

I wonder if there's a way to find out everybody who voted for NAFTA.

5. The DLC and Corporate friendly Democrats are as much a threat to the reforms
this country has to have as the Republicans are.

6. I didn't know there were still 63,000 working to be laid off...
So what's all the complaining about - there are still SOME people working, I bet.

Better to worry about monsters. Now that's serious.
