Bradley: Bill Clinton's Financial Backers Could Pose Big Problem
"And the reason that is important -- you know, are there favors attached to $500,000 or $1 million contributions? And what do I mean by favors? I mean, pardons that are granted; investigations that are squelched; contracts that are awarded; regulations that are delayed."

What are the Clintons hiding from Democratic voters?

RELEASE THE RECORDS NOW!

8. The alienation of Democratic leaders is pretty disturbing.
Kerry, Kennedy, Bradley, Hart, Lewis, just for starters... will there be any Democrats left to admire by the time this Clinton power-grab runs its course among Clintonistas?

11. I get this image of the bully in the playground harassing the kids
and finally taking their ball. All the kids go home and the bully wonders why no one will play with him.

14. It's just crazy.
Now the board is full of Clintonistas saying Keith Olbermann is a hack and he cannot be tolerated. Same goes for Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller, David Schuster... anyone who dares question The Princess.

10. LOL. Saint Hillary & Saint Bill - above scrutiny.
Anyone who criticizes the holy ones are blasphemers!

Only a fool would trust politicians who are hiding financial records.

27. nominated for most embarassingly silly and vapid post of the day
oh yeah, and utterly dishonest too. Bill Bradley is a former U.S. Senator, former contender for the dem nomination for President and former Rhodes scholar. Yep, he damned well would know. And why do YOU think the Clintons are so reluctant to release a tax return that's now a year old? Why do YOU think the Clintons are so secretive?

16. Bradley raises a question I have not seen addressed anywhere: a major foundation
headed by the spouse of a sitting president could be a perfect conduit for quid pro quos.

Even while neither Clinton was in office, Bill helped secure his friend Frank Giustra a huge Kazakhstan uranium contract for which his firm was unqualified. The New York Times (at http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/31/us/politics/31donor.html?pagewanted=1&ref=politics ) reported that in return, Giustra gave Clinton's library $100 million and Clinton's Foundation $31.3 million!

How many BILLIONS could Bill rake in with spousal control over all of the levers of control at the disposal of a sitting president, levers with which Bill is intimately experienced?

Shouldn't Bill at the least have to pledge to take a leave of absence from the Clinton Foundation for the duration of any HRC presidency, the same way most presidents and their families have put financial assets in blind trusts?

22. Remember Tom Delay's "Red Door"? pResident HRC's could be on 125st in Harlem
"BILL MOYERS: To follow Jack Abramoff's money trail, we will be coming back often to this red door. The town house at 132 D Street S.E. is just three short blocks from Tom DeLay's office on Capitol Hill. His staff called it his "safe house." It was bought by the U.S. Family Network - a non-profit outfit that said its mission was to restore "moral fitness" to American life."

24. It appears they have been corrupted by power and wealth.
Hillary will not disclose her tax records and White House records before she is the nominee.

Good for Hillary. Bad for Democratic chances in November (if somehow she became the nominee).

I met him and had a long chat. He's a good guy and would have been a fantastic president.

26. I can't help but wonder if the Clintons have access to some offshore entities . . .
where they can insulate some of their massive income from U.S. taxes . . . given what I've heard about how much Bill has "earned" from foreign interests, I'd be surprised if all of it is reported on their tax returns and the appropriate income taxes paid . . . that may, in fact, be one of the reasons they are loathe to release their returns . . .
