I would be very worried about McCain who has a foul temper if he is faced with an huge emergency. I could imagine he would have us blown to bits?:nuke:

3. That old man will have us at war with damn near every country
in the middle east, he will probably pick a fight with China and Russia to try to out due Bush. As worn out as the military is, they can not be happy with a McCain administration who main agenda is to prove his toughness.

4. I wish the reporter had not backed down
She became timid in the wake of McCain's temper. It would have been interesting to see just how far he'd go. It sounded like she mentioned his wife at one point, then backed away.

6. I am not a McCain supporter...
but...I saw the clip where he supposedly had a bad temper and it's all media BS. He didn't blow up, lose his cool or explode. He was just honest with the reporter and she didn't like it. I actually thought that she was more defensive and angry at the end than he was....really. He was just direct. I didn't see the temper tantrum.

7. I would only vote for McCain if his opponent, were, say David Duke or Hitler.
I have to preface my commentary about the "cranky McCain" theme that is being shopped by the media with that remark to forestall any of the inevitable "Freeper" and "closet Republican" remarks I would otherwise endure.

I have to say that I just can't blame McCain for getting irritated. He had the conversation, everyone KNEW he had the conversation, it was heavily reported when the story was first floated, because someone who was either an idiot looking for a triangulation opportunity or geniunely "not a friend" to Kerry leaked it, but Old Popeye comes from a place and time where "private" conversations stay private. About the only way he'd talk about that conversation in detail is if he and Kerry were being interviewed and Kerry said "Let's talk about that conversation we had back in Oh Four."

I also KNOW (not think, know) that his display of "pique" in that clip was not "anger." He CAN get really, really REALLY MAD. Madder than George "It's Just a Piece of Paper" Bush can get.

But if anyone is looking for evidence of genuine "temper" in that clip, that wasn't it. Not by a long shot.

What that clip will do for him is help him with the "perpetually aggrieved" GOP base. After all, it's the "Librul Media" (like those awful fellers at the Nooo Yawk Times) who are constantly badgering "Good Republicans" like "Reagan" and even, eh, Bush (but let's just focus on the Elder One). Ergo, using GOP logic, if the "Librul Media" is going after McCain, he "obviously" must be a "good guy."

I remain AMAZED at how long the GOP liberal media/nattering nabobs of negativity theme that was first launched by Spiro Agnew, himself a discredited crony, has so long endured. It really is astounding. For the GOP, it's a gift that keeps on giving, a touchstone for them that they return to, again and again. And for some crazy reason, it never gets old to them...!
