Shouldn't we then start thinking about the possibility that we might need a non-token primary challenger four years from now? Isn't that the best way to ensure that our newly-minted Democratic president is truer to the values and policies we elected them to achieve? I know this is way beyond too early, but it's a comforting thought whenever one or both of our candidates are disappointing me.

1. I want an oath signed in blood
that the minute they sign a bill into law and cover it with a signing statement that says "jokes on you Congress", they admit to high crimes and misdemeanors and can be removed from office.

that the first time they allow torture, ditto

that the first time they fail to remove from office anyone in their administration charged with a crime, ditto

that when they consult their AG about whether denying habeus corpus is allowed under the Constitution, ditto

.....

anyway you get the idea
hell, I see if I can find someone to summon the Devil himself to administer that blood oath

2. I understand your concern
but I think the effort is better spent replacing specific congresspersons and changing leadership.

We must build the consensus for deep reforms. And that requires a strong Democratic progressive movement representing the people.
