The sudden momentum of Hillary Clinton
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 03:20 AM by acrosstheuniverse
It all just reminds you how much you can't underestimate the ignorance and poor judgement of millions of Democratic voters. They preferred Jimmy Carter over Ted Kennedy, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, John Kerry over Howard Dean and these all led to defeats.

So if Hillary ends up coming back with a higher popular vote and we have a stalemated convention, just blame it on the Democrats who voted for this shit.

We need to wake up as a party and not be afraid of change.

5. If the Democratic party and the American people in general
weren't afraid of change, Dennis Kucinich would be our nominee. Now that would be a president for our time!

7. You're right...
...but sadly enough, looks count and Dennis, although my first choice, just doesn't look the part

12. Dennis does have that Howdy Doody look, but
if looks were what we really mattered and mortality weren't a factor, this guy

would be president again. Well, I must admit Dennis is no beauty, but neither is Hillary nor Barack. John Kennedy had it all. Sometimes I think he was just too cool for life. Oh well. Like you, I'd give my vote to Dennis any day, pretty or not.

8. What momentum? She blew 20 point leads and lost 2 out of 4 states
The momentum is a bullshit narrative created in the media. Hillary's toast -- she's just too stupid to notice.

10. If delegates are anything to go by...
her momentum right now is going backward, because Obama's lead has actually increased this week. She only netted a small gain in delegates on tuesday, while Obama had picked up several more superdelegates as well as a few from California in the final certified tally (previous california totals were based on estimates, which gave him 63 delegates: the certified tally is that he got 67, and correspondingly Hillary's total has been reduced by 4).

11. Momentum?
That was her "firewall" and she lost delegates.

This is probably the beginning of the end.
After this week the gap will widen by at least 20.
Which will leave her needing over 60% in EVERY REMAINING CONTEST just to catch up.

that's the dance move where you give the illusion of moving forward when you're actually going backwards...

15. I see you have just woken up to DU and democrats
Every name in your list is a great one. Sometimes democrats have too many riches from which to pick. Like now between two GREAT candidates. Don't fret about the democrats. They will be just fine and they will select the next president.
Go back to feeling ashamed of George Bush and Dick Cheney.

17. You do realize that your post insults a whole bunch of Obama supporters
who supported someone other than Dean in 2004, right?

There are lots of problems with Hillary - but writing her voters off as "ignorant" and having "poor judgment" is inaccurate and offensive.

You might want to try hanging out in the Obama forum for a bit and notice the diversity of supporters there. Many of whom supported Kerry in 2004.

18. Ted Kennedy gave us Reagan
Seems people forget he ran against a sitting Dem President, took it to the convention in a bitter fight -- and thereby splitting the Dems. What an example!!

19. More like the phantom momentum
She barely won two states, Ohio (which gave us the Bush-Cheney second term) and RI (who knows), and the press whores are turning it into the fall of Troy. It isn't.

21. Her momentum is illusory at best.
Don't worry. Reality will set in soon enough.

She does not have the popular votes. She does not have the delegates. The math demonstrates that winning is impossible for her without resorting to cheats like smoke-filled-room deals with superdelegates, and I doubt that she'll be able to get enough superdelegates that way.

She's done. She and her cultists don't know it yet.

22. and don't forget the
role of the GOP Corporate Media, who is giving Clinton 24/7 wall-to-wall coverage to help her with the "It's not over, I can come back and WIN it" strategy. Voters who rely totally on cable news for information are the ones who will be influenced by this lopsided spin coverage.

Barring a Tsunami of REAL momentum on her part, which translates into delegates won the remaining contests and a higher popular vote total (and how do you determine that with caucuses mixed in?), she wins through a brokered convention where the result will be a bitterly divided Democratic Party.

Obama is a phenom but he doesn't have the experience to lead us against the onslaught coming in the GE. I'll put my money on Hillary.
