GD:P has become totally useless for me.
It's like going fishing in a speedboat. By the time I find something that is worthy of reading, it's already disappeared to the netherworld of the second page. I have a difficult time just reading the headlines of each post. It's becoming a total waste of time.

I thought the restriction of 3 posts per 24-hour period would be the answer. It was not. Perhaps it should be one post per 24-hour period? Maybe there is no solution? We are stuck with this runaway train until it crashes?

It's almost like the Obama/Hillary campaign. The worthy posts get backhanded by the more provocative ones. Perhaps I should have titled this post: "Fuck This Shit !!"

2. That would be appropriate!
Let's change the name to the "Fuck this shit" forum. You have my vote.

4. I wonder if some people have just created multiple accounts
so they can get around the 3 post rule.

5. Lately it's been difficult to even find something that is worthy of reading.
Even some of the good threads wind up being a hatefest.

"Is too!" "Is not!" "Is too!" "Is not!"

7. Click on the start time
It makes the thread title most important, not the last comment.

9. If you find a good thread, keep it kicked!
and let the rotten ones sink.

There's enough of us who feel the same way that we can keep at least some useful & productive content on the front page.

10. I try to make some kind of comment to the threads I want to follow -- even if
I can't read the entire thread at the time.

That way, I can at least track it on the "My DU" and retrieve it for 2 days.

I, too, have been amazed and confounded at the speed with which threads go to the ignominy of the second page.

12. Kentuk, you are just not ignoring enough people here.
The posts on the front page are all mine and yours.

13. I'd like to see an Explorer view type page with topic folders
example:

  • Unity Ticket
  • Florida-Michigan
  • Super Delegates
  • Upcoming Primaries
  • McCain
  • Rallys and Events

Just an example, there would obviously be more folder topics and some crossover (super d's & Fl/MI).
But it works very well on other boards I have been active on.

15. Agreed.
Unfortunately, it appears most of the thoughtful posters from both sides have left. It's nearly impossible to sustain any kind of rational discourse here anymore.

Maybe it has the kind of no-no attraction that porn does? Don't know, but here we all are.
