Should Obama be under investigation by the Ethics Committee?
Last night, John McLaughlin on McLaughlin Group raising the issue of whether the Senate Ethics Committee should be holding hearings on whether Obama accepted (an) illegal gift(s) from Rezko. Seeing Obama has never been fully vetted, except what he's written about himself in his book. Funny, though, Obama left out the part about how the slumlord, Rezko, helped catapult his career for the good or the bad into the national spotlight.

the mere accusation isn't enough to warrant an Ethics committee investigation.

Educate yourself- if it's at all possible.
There will be ethics investigation because there is zero evidence that Obama did anything to merit it. It may be your wet dream, but it aint' happening.

who cares what his supporter and dems think...the RW and MSM will turn this into ...i'm afraid you nor the Obab's are quite ready for...the timing of this trial is not in obama ;s favor...as they proceed..more questions will be collected for Obama to answer...which he has NOT! The more he tries to avoid the press on Rezko..the more suspicion HE creates!

7. Is There Anything Anywhere NEAR Substantial Enough Yet Of Implication To Warrant Such A Thing?
The ethics committee should only be used when evidence is so strong that it warrants such a move. Has such evidence yet come forth, or are you just saying this out of blind partisan silliness for sake of swiftboating a good Dem? If the former, then absolutely. If the latter, then get a grip.

40. The Rezko/Obama connection question..
does include "influence pedaling". Was there a quid pro quo?...(If) Obama helped Rezko in getting Federal Funding for those low income apartments? And in return, Rezko (who was his campaign chairman) solicited donations on his behalf for his US Senate election. Rezko is as crooked as a dog's leg and he and Obama had a 17 yr relationship. Obama, the ambitious one. Rezko, the sleaze. The two are a bad mix and Obama being as weak as he is...did he succumb at some point in time to ethics violations that could be considered criminal? I think it's a valid question.

Stuff like that!

If not, what's your source so I can see for myself. All I've seen that suggests they've ever had anything to do with each other is one of those "It's your turn, take the photo fast" pictures of the Clintons with a stream of essentially anonymous convention-goers.

It seems Obama is immune to scrutiny by fellow Democrats. Or perhaps, I wasn't paying attention before. Did we leave it to Republicans to do the muckraking for us, while we sat in the corner with our clean hands folded. There should be standards for politicking....
ethical standards that candidates, and their campaigns adhere to

Kneecapping another candidate, intimidating another campaign,

Not much about Obama at Ill. fraud trial

By MIKE ROBINSON, Associated Press Writer Fri Mar 7, 7:05 PM ET

CHICAGO - Two things already are clear in the $7 million federal fraud trial of a fundraiser for some of presidential hopeful Barack Obama's earlier political campaigns.

The fraud, attempted extortion and money laundering charges against businessman Antoin "Tony" Rezko have little if anything to do with Obama. But they have a lot to do with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and allegations of an influence-peddling scheme within his inner circle.

Even so, as a presidential contender, Obama was guaranteed to feel the heat when a longtime friend and supporter went on trial in a political scandal.

Neither Obama nor Blagojevich are accused of wrongdoing in the trial, which began with opening statements Thursday and took a break Friday. But Obama's Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton has raised questions about his long ties to Rezko, and if the Illinois senator wins the nomination Republicans are likely to do the same.

"I think the national and international press have repeatedly done a calculation that says Rezko gave to Obama, Rezko was indicted, hence Obama is implicated, and that's a false calculation," says Cindi Canary, head of the nonpartisan, foundation-funded Illinois Campaign for Political Reform.

"This trial is about allegations of improper influence in the Blagojevich administration," she says.

51. I watched the McLaughlin Group and, for the life of me, I can't figure
out the brouhaha over the purchase of the house and abutting strip of land. The people who sold the house were asking $600,000 more than the final sale price. That's not necessarily unusual. Sometimes people overprice their homes. My own home, for example, was on the market 10 years at $300,000 before we purchased it for $125,000 with a $15,000 septic system thrown in. In addition, the sellers have verified it was an arms-length transaction. The strip of land doesn't strike me as odd, either. It was subdivided from the original lot to tack onto the Obama property and it looks to me as if he paid a fair price given the price of the lot to begin with. The only issue is the character of Rezko and that will be determined at the end of the current trial. If Obama is going to somehow be pegged with guilt by association, I've got some Whitewater land to sell you.

65. really? they need an August 15, 2008 extension for their 2006 tax return?
how interesting. they're busy figuring out what they can redact and white out so that voters don't know exactly how much billy and hillypoo have taken from crooked sources and stashed in off shore tax havens- like bill's $700,000 sale of worthless stock.

There is NO good reason why they keep putting off releasing their 2006 tax return- or earlier ones. And we know that she won't really release it before PA. Poor pitiful victim hilly will have yet another excuse.

68. Not sure. But please do forward more McLaughlin suggestions.
He's a well-respected, unbiased Washington elder that Democrats should be heeding.

70. Hey, Tellus man
Why are you still pushing the slime site "Hillaryis44"?

Why are you still pushing Rezko?

And why aren't you pushing for Hillary's tax returns?

Why don't you tell people that your name comes from the fiction of L Ron Hubbard and the fascist fiction of E E "Doc" Smith.

The world is waiting for answers.

80. Apparently, Obama didn't think so.
Isn't "Ethics" Legislation the only Bill he sponsored that was passed?
