I'm beginning to think I don't want the candidate I do truly think will make the best president to win. I'm not going to mention names because I don't think they are important at this juncture.

The next President is going to be met with a shit-storm so deep that it will be impossible to dig out of in four or maybe even eight more years.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm stockpiling dried beans, pasta, dried meat (I have a dehydrator) and canned foods. I know in about four months I'm barely going to make my monthly bills and will have no money left for food. If gas goes to four bucks a gallon, I am well and truly screwed.

The foreclosure crises is sinking all the major cities in this country. The tent cities have just started to appear.

I know four people with health insurance. Four. That's it. Granted, I do tend to run in a working-class, blue collar crowd, but when you wanna know who has no health insurance, I can give you a long list of names.

The army is broken and we don't have the money to fix it. Iraq and Afghanistan are both about to explode into violence, again.

Maybe the other candidate should win. I sure don't want my candidate going down in history as the person at the helm when The USA sank. Notice the dude who actually *hit* the iceburg is going to be living it up in Paraguay.

2. I just want three supreme court appointments. Beyond that, I agree that disaster looms for any Pres
Someday America is going to get the dreaded message that there's no sustainable reason for ordinary Americans to be 100 times wealthier than ordinary Indians or Chinese or Mexicans.

That message isn't going to go down real well.

4. Yup
I do think the Supreme Court is the most important thing in this election cycle. If the R's get three appointments to the Supremes, there is no turning back and no hope for the next fifty years.

5. I would love
for the war to end. But just because there's no money won't stop them. They'll just take it from other places, like SCHIP. Afterall, we have to "support the troops" --- that phrase always makes me want to vomit. The pure propagandaness of it. It's absurd to suggest otherwise, even the most militant anti-war folks (I consider myself among that number) don't want to see American troops get killed (or kill anyone else.)

6. If you would love the war to end, then keep saying so.
Integrate this idea into every message you post, talk about it with all of your friends and family members, with all of the people you meet on the street. Tell everyone that you demand PEACE.

When the rest of the world FINALLY says "NO MORE CREDIT TO THE USA", then there will be no more war. The rest of the world needs to hear that the majority of the citizens in the USA want PEACE.

Warmongers are in the "business of war". If there´s no more money in it, they will stop.

So keep up the PROMOTE PEACE effort. :-)

9. I'm getting tired
It's been five long years and I'm tired of the fight. I have a permanent indentation in my skull from slamming it against a wall these past five years.

7. So John McCain would be the logical choice for the country to make
...under your logic as democrats scatter for the hills and hide their heads in the sand?

I think the democratic party will come up with the perfect candidate to meet the challenges we all face as a nation and what may be in store for the world.

As for Dim-son hiding out in Paraguay, his bunker will have to go deep into middle earth in order for him not to be found. Has anyone actually looked at the back of Dubya's neck to see if there are electrodes of some type installed?

8. Up thread
It is addressed why McCain can't be allowed to become president. We cannot afford two, perhaps three Supreme Court picks to be made by Republicans. No, I think maybe the other candidate should win so that person can go down in history as the second worst president ever, after Dimson, of course.
