Obama fund-raiser in fraud trial

The Chicago trial of a fund-raiser for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has opened with the prosecutor alleging massive fraud.

The prosecutor alleged that Antoin "Tony" Rezko was behind a $7m (£3.5m) plan to extort money from firms trying to do business with Illinois state.

Mr Obama has not been accused of any wrongdoing and has donated the money raised for him by Mr Rezko to charity.

Mr Rezko denies the charges, saying he only raised funds for politicians.

Mr Obama's links to Mr Rezko have brought the first whiff of scandal to an election campaign that has rapidly gained momentum.

Then let's appropriate 100 FBI agents and 100 million dollars and start looking into the Rezko deal from every possible angle, following each thread no matter where it leads, using all the witness-intimidation power of the Federal Government, with the overt intention of charging Barack or Michelle with any crime an unscrupulous prosecutor can go to a Grand Jury with.

That's where the Clintons went when their political opponents looked into their finances. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to see the Obamas go there, too.

Then we could all take a look at all of BOTH couples' dirty laundry and SMELL whose is stinkier.
