I think Teton County might just put Obama @ 60%
59% now with Sheridan County just reporting.

A solid 20% win will be nice!

=)

GObama!

8. He's from Casper but I think their vacation home is near Jackson Hole
Where he goes fishing. Where he hid for a month to get out of harm's way in August/September 2001. Not positive though.

27. The Clintons vacationed there several times. Anecdote follows
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 07:06 PM by featherman
One year in the late 90's when I was there for an art show there was a big to do regarding the crash of a plane in the Clinton group. Only the pilot on board if I recall. Can't remember the details but it did remind me that the Clintons do have some history there.

10. Teton County is the most liberal county in the state
Not that that means much, when you're talking about Wyoming. But it will definitely be a very strong county for Obama.

6.  Could someone please tell
me why the Wyoming Dems like Obama's style as opposed to the other one?

I read something ..that their Dem Guv denounced the DNC and the 50 strategy so I was a little concerned.

http://www.renewamerica.us/columns/adamo/050928

But, all's good!

<snip>

"Her husband, Dave Freudenthal, is a popular two-term Democratic governor in a state that is dominated by Republicans. He has not publicly endorsed either candidate and his wife was reluctant to state her preference (though their 21-year-old daughter Katie was holding an Obama sign).

The crowd, said Nancy Freudenthal, "is nothing I expected. At Democratic events in Wyoming, you tend to see the same worker bees over and over. Today I see tons of new faces. This has great potential to revive the Democratic Party."

At about 9:25 a.m., Karpan took the microphone to nominate her candidate, Clinton. She would be followed by Ken McCauley, a retired Air Force pilot, who would nominate Obama.

much more..

60 percent may be enough to convince more supers to go to Obama tomorrow.

A good win in Teton could do it!

Luckily the Democratic Party under Dean is in much better shape politically than during the 1990's, and will resolutely reject these maneuvers to force a coup.

35. Just got back from the Teton County event
Strongly Obama, as expected. Might get to 60-40, but I don't think it'll go far enough to get the extra delegate.

There was a huge influx of participants just after lift closing time, and the Brew Pub just down the street was packed to the rafters. Long time D's in town were literally in tears. It's tough to live here with the median home price up to somethin like $1.2 million, but a lot of us still manage it (I live in a 224 sq ft cabin :-). There are also some very powerful Democrats with links to the valley.

37. Featherman i have a question
scheming daemons is claiming that 35000 voters came out in WY today. That would be turnout since the state only has 50K plus registered Democrats.

Maddie McCall is saying that voters numbered about 10,000, which would be about a 20% turnout.

Who is correct?

39. I've seen people write that
but when I look at the numbers, I can only see 8K as vote totals.

And since apparently 500 people caucused in the entire state in 2004, 35K would be almost mind boggling.

40. i think scheming is wrong here.
I just searched the WY dem page and found this little bullet:

# In each jurisdiction (CD and statewide):

1. Total qualified vote = total votes cast for the qualifying candidates in the jurisdiction.

That would seem to mean the total people who caucused are the numbers you see on CNN, etc.

I'm not sure though.

When I look at Sheridan County (a county I know well - used to live in Billings MT) there are only 310 votes for the whole county.

That is a fairly big town (Sheridan and County) I can't imagine only 310 people voting.

???
