Media heaven
The democratic race is finally media heaven. First, a neck and neck horserace down to the finish. All story lines will now reflect this for weeks (regardless of the results until the next big event). Second, the closeness of the race encourages large numbers of attacks from the campaigns, which are ratings gold and allows the pundits to "shine."

Sidenote:
Media will help things to get a lot worse, before they get better, and if not careful there will be a lot of bad blood in the Democratic party. See 1980, 1968 and 1948 for how the bad feelings play out. 1948 may have been worse than 1968, since the party temporarily split into 3 factions: mainstream (Truman), Dixiecrat (Thurmund), and Progressive (Henry Wallace). This year the policies of the two main contenders are similar enough to prevent an outright split, but enthusiasm of the Democratics voters may be at stake. Truman won anyway.
