1. Oil, Limbaugh, and the rightwingnut agenda...
The war has now cost us $500 billion plus

http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar_home

Rightwingers are painting the illegal aliens as the culprits. The illegals are here, supposedly having their wages withheld for income taxes etc and sales taxes etc., and if anybody should go to jail it should be the employers who've made a mint off them and didn't want to hire US nationals in the first place. Secondly, the projected costs of the 'war' in Iraq (actually an occupation) is now at $3 Trillion (or about a fourth of national GDP which is $13 trillion). Lots of other things could have been paid for with that.

Besides, read about what the 'war' is all about in the first place, OIL

'70s embargo sparked 'last resort' measure, says British memo

"The British warned in their assessment that any occupation of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi might have to last as long as 10 years."

Since the invasion in 2003 a ten year occupation just about makes it to the Brit's estimate of 2013, the same thing that Rush Limbaughh is putting out:

Feel Duped? Democrat Candidates Pledge to Stay in Iraq Until 2013

and McCain wants us to stay for LONGER than that, a hundred years...

Rent the movie Three Days Of The Condor, with Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway to see what the NYTimes didn't do , the Times helped get us INTO Iraq.
