Hillary will drop out May 7th

I'm calling it. Obama will make it close in Pennsylvania (within 10 points) and then win easily in North Carolina and pull an upset win in Indiana, netting 35 delegates between the two. With only about 210 delegates left after Indiana and North Carolina, there is no way she will catch up and be pressured to leave the day after the primaries as superdelegates flock towards him.

Neither will get the nomination on pledged delegates alone. After FL and MI do a revote (and they will) and PA holds its primary, Clinton will take the popular vote lead. The super delegates will decide, over the will of the people (as feared), that because Obama got the most pledged delegates he should get the nomination.

I personally feel that if she does not drop out by next week 3 things could happen.

#1 and most likely is she goes all the way to the convention regardless and likely ruins much of Obama's chance for a BIG win in November.

#2 The supers will flock and turn her into a lame duck. Permitting Obama to focus more on GE while continuing to win contests towards the win.

#3 Is a mixture of the two except for Clinton exits RIGHT before he gets enough delegates and tries to make herself game for VP.

I do not have much hope that Clinton will do the right thing and exit. Her past proves what she truly is about and only the supers flocking can turn her into a lame duck enough for Obama to start his GE run.

Things are looking worse and worse for November.

I don't see Hillary quitting before the Florida and Michigan issues have been resolved.

The Clinton campaign is all about asking the superdelegates to make a judgement call about which candidate can win in November, looking at the electoral college, blue states and battleground states: Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania.

But Hillary has to build on her March 4th results. Right now Hillary and Obama are level in national polls. A Clinton Comeback means she needs to start polling better than Barack.

Superdelegates will look at the pledged delegates but they will also look at other factors like popular vote, national polls, battleground states, momentum, etc. - and make their own judgement about which candidate would have the best chance of beating John McCain.
